He's a peacocking edgelord pseudo-intellectual who can't take the same edge dished at him as he tries serving. He's also a loser who admires his crook of a dad he fucking kept a wiki on for why he's in prison.
He is an utter drain on anything he touches, given he utterly nuked prior movements in sci-fi before trying to ooze into comics for more money.
I got no problems with that, but I don't like this volte-face where "CG" (aka EVS and crew) talked about how gate-keeping would be taboo and that they would be supportive essentially of independent non-SJW comic book creators, only to tell certain creators like Vox Day they're not welcome at all or, in the case of say Nasser, they're not welcome anymore.
Hmmm. I'm still not entirely clear on who gets to claim the CG mantle, who doesn't, and why.
Let's take everyones current favorite persona, Doug TenNapel, for example. People have stated that he's anti-gay and perhaps he is. However, if this is just a personal belief and he's not expressing this in his books nor is he being combative with customers, why should it matter? IOW, if his anti-gay sentiments exist solely within his own personal bubble, why can't he claim he's part of CG and enjoy all the benefits that that entails?
Yes, I know the optics might be bad. And I know he would, fairly or unfairly, place a target on the back of CG as a whole. However, presuming Doug is otherwise pleasant to people and overall pro-CG, isn't that the principle to follow instead of kowtowing to rabid SJWs?
Let me try another angle. I'm sure there are quite a few atheists within CG who likely think religion is evil or at least semi-predatory and have stated such on social media sites if you dig hard enough. Are they welcome into the fold? If so, why? The opposite is also probably true, with CG people convinced that atheists are on a one-way trip to damnation. What makes them an "acceptable risk" whereas someone like Doug isn't?
If CG is going to fly the collectivist flag with a resultant vetting process, then sensible and defensible ground-rules should be established for those wanting to step through the door.
You don’t understand. Doug had to temporarily reject the CG flag in order to get his book deal for Earthworm Jim. For that he needed to be punished. Just pay no attention to the fact that Zack and Billy also refuse the label unless absolutely forced to acknowledge it.
“Gimmie a break. Warski was nice to me too. I was a guest on his show last year...but who gives a sh*t? He spent an entire livestream running down comicsgate and @EthanVanSciver with total lies. Fcuk that stuttering prick. https://t.co/JXTiv8AY89”

Cecil is getting a little upset that YF has no dog in this fight. They got mad when he refused to join in on the dogpile on Doug as well. Guess we'll see if he gets pressured into giving a shit this time.
And I found Ben alive and kicking in the replies. Don't know what he expects to do to Andy when he knows fuck all the guy, but good luck with the lukewarm dunks I guess. He's still planning to launch Ravage: Kill All Men 2, but I doubt it will do well after he shit the bed last time and ran off when people got pissed.
I think the way he came into it also left a massive distaste in peoples mouths. If he had said hey I'm CG buy my captain USA books most people probably wouldn't have given too much of a shit and kept ignoring him, I feel like it was the CG is now my publishing house that got a lot of people upset. If that plan went ahead combined with his ability to nuke movements I wouldn't have been surprised to see CG stuff nuked on IGG, much like Kickstarter.

In unrelated news, "Hero Shack" of the VikkiVerse set apparently released a 68-page comic satirizing Comicsgate on Amazon two days ago, but made the classic mistake of making EVS look alpha and jacked on the cover of a comic intended as an insult.
It used to mean not attacking the fans and delivering good books, but now it's Sell yourself to the frog or else a group of gay larpers will harass you.

So who is this Ben guy? lol. These SIMPCAMPAIGN people are some of the lamest people I have ever seen. Holy shit... Never have I been so unimpressed with their "memes" in my life. Our chat is so much more savage than these tardlets.
It's honestly like having middle aged housewives on Facebook trying to mic drop you lol.
I'm not going to go into the deep lore for Ben but he's kind of a fuckup and an idiot who needs to get his shit together before even Warcampaign would trust him with another crowdfund.

Well what's considered Comicsgate can vary. As affirmed by Ethan van Sciver in this very thread, guys like Zack and Billy Tucci can be counted as "Comicsgate creators" despite not wanting to sport the label, promote fellow CG creators' work or advocate for the movement. Hell, you can be someone like TUG who has repeatedly denounced Comicsgate as a movement, refuses to go to the trouble of promoting CG creators because some "fell short of his high personal standards", refuses to cover CG news because it's suboptimal for his channel growth and these days just sits silently in EVS' livestreams from time to time until an opening in the conversation appears so he can sperg to EVS' audience about how SJW Captain America sent him a bag of gummy dicks or whatever victim narrative he's cooked up this week then peace out, and still be considered "Comicsgate". So clearly, there is an essential quality to being Comicsgate that transcends what you say or what you do. At least when it comes to asserting the credibility of Comicsgate 2020 as a relevant movement.
I have to say, part of me definitely empathizes. Being asked to invest one's time and energy and personal credibility into someone else's business venture only for them to not reciprocate, not acknowledge your help when they succeed and sit silently while their peers call you a Nazi has to be incredibly discouraging. Still, I'll give Ethan credit; he's leading by example on this no matter how few people are getting the message. And watching life push him into the role of Vito Corleone in the intro scene to the Godfather on twitter is amazing, arguably crossing the line into high art.
And this problem is not going to go away until this underlying mentality behind this very revealing quote does:
Ideally, CG association and participation within the community should be able to get comics funded without direct intercession from EVS. It would be the best scenario for everyone involved, including him. But centralization of resources is a natural consequence of encroaching authoritarianism in a movement; command economies are notoriously inefficient and one pivoting on a single individual is never going to result in goods that are competitive on a free market.
It'd be great if someone else could help pick up the slack, Dongs. A lot of people are trying to build their YouTube channels up to be as influential as mine is in ComicsGate. Zack is very influential. He shouted out Narwhal and got him $10K in additional funding in two days.
Malin could do it. TUG could do it. Yellow Flash could do it. Raging Golden Eagle could do it. Anna could do it.
But right now nobody gets books funded as well as I do.
I could just quit helping people entirely and focus only on my own Frog books, and end this "encroaching authoritarianism."
What do you think would happen to ComicsGate and the indie market if I walked away from it?
Honestly? I think it would either fail or pass into the hands of someone absolutely unfit who stepped into the vacuum you left behind, and then fail. But simply considering the facts that you're a mortal human being, and you're taking on this task purely on personal principle, I consider it an inevitability with the ways things are as they stand. A family emergency, an extended vacation, or you just waking up one morning throwing your hands up in the air and saying "you know what? fuck this" and the crisis is on its way. In terms of seeing the ideas you champion through and ultimately this path you've chosen be vindicated, it's a design flaw. In terms of providing you with feelings of control and agency, less so.
So I think pluralism, and eventually establishing a system that can perpetuate itself in terms of platforms and projects being built up without the intervention of a specific person is the future of Comicsgate. To you though, I'm guessing the real question at this point is that if building up someone to be able to do what you do will invariably turn into you building up a rival for everything you've worked for, or the next iteration in an endless procession of CG schisms as it has in the past.
I don't have any solid answers myself - it may just be unavoidable. What I do know is that it's definitely unavoidable when an environment is fostered that anyone who can break away has the overpowering desire to do so and the only people remaining are there because they have no choice but to be dependent on your crowdfunding their livelihoods for them. Like what you're proposing with Nasser. And I don't understand how power over these people is not an inevitable byproduct of such a system.
CG: "EVS vs Warski, why aren't you covering this?"
YF: "Comicsgate and Warski were both nice to me so I don't have a side in this fight"
CG: "What if we started calling you a cuck traitor piece of shit fencesitter, does that change your mind?"
YF: "Yes."

“Oh good lord, those crazy woke bastards at Marvel Comics actually went and did it. They've created an incarnation of #TheNewWarriors with two new characters whose names are LITERALLY Snowflake and Safespace (and one of whom is non-binary). 🤣 #ComicsGate #GamerGate https://t.co/XnreP0NRlF”

Just a dumb boomer who bit off more than he could chew when it came to making a comic. I'd be more concerned about WarCampaign and only because they make it a point to be actively annoying. But yeah, they should be basically zero threat to you.

Marvel is trolling hard as fuck right now. Here's the clip for convenience.
