The problem will come about with the return of economic nationalism. Fucking up the supply chains by not having a decent healthcare system like china has done is going to make a lot of governments and companies look at "reinforcing" their supply chains. This could mean more South East Asian states will see rapid industrialisation but more likely with pressure from government we will see a reonshoring of industry.

I am seeing a lot of points worth addressing here, so I'll made a long winded autistic response.
China's current goal is make tier 2 cities tier 1. They can't accomplish that with low skilled shitty factory line jobs or assembly jobs. If we look at the death toll for each region, China's cluster of tier 1 coastal provinces have it at a number close to zero. China calls their "healthcare" health insurance and it's divided into many tiers. The lowest tier requires about 10 dollars a year and covers emergency operations that cost up to 100,000 yuan, which is about 17-20k dollars. This applies to all tier 1 cities and some tier 2 ones, and it's from 7-8 years ago. Schools have similar covers as well. The problem would be such insurances being "optional".
During the end of my stay, I got into a fight with someone, slipped on a bottle and broke my leg. Got sent to the hospital. The total cost was several thousand yuan which the person that kicked me had to dish out. His family didn't purchase the optional cover and wanted to just use ours, to which we told him to fuck himself. My dad said he's happy to fork out the costs if he breaks the kid's dad's leg in return (savage asf). They asked if it's possible to pay now (the $10) or borrow it, the hospital called them idiots. This is likely the case with many people in the states as well, ignorance and incapability to think in long term. "Why should I pay for health insurance, I won't get hurt! I'll vote for Bernie, universal healthcare! Just raise taxes n shet" Pretty stupid, pay extra thousands in tax a year just to have insurance that costs as low as $5 a month. Education is the key.

I had a Korean transformer (110V to 240V) explode, it was made 10 years ago, opened it and there's not even a ground connection, that could have killed me. What will definitely happen is the global factory shifting to SEA and mainly India. Made in India is going to be the new "Made in China" in the future. Why pay someone $3 an hour when $0.5 would do? China will instead focus on tech and higher end stuff, such as fully automated assembly lines. Then to be optimistic, the country will loosen up their censorious bullshit firewalls and those Uygur whatever Chingchong Muslims can find jobs to get themselves occupied as well.
