Well, I don’t think anyone thought Morgan has an IQ above 85. People who’s lives are fulfilled by faking pointless medical problems for drama and attention are typically pretty stupid. I kind of wonder if that old terrible soap opera General Hospital - and TV dramas like ER and Greys Anatomy - fueled these people. They imagine they are the stars of an exciting episode of a prime time medical drama.

What was Morgan like in High School? I believe her fake illnesses started while she was in HS. It may have even started with some minor legitimate issue but the attention received for it was like a dope fiend‘s first taste of heroin.

Quiet girl, overbearing mother, lower to middle class family, not really noticed until the first “illness“ made them both feel like prom queens and it was off to the munchie races. Or she might have been a bratty, immature, unpopular girl that acted out at school and was mocked for it. Her sick girl schtick then made all the people have to put up with and praise her stupid BS, instead of openly mock it.
Either way, Morgan started making a fool of herself with the rap shit and other crap because now everybody had to “be nice to the sick girl” and it turned into some absurd munchie suburban “the emperor has no clothes” thing. The initial positive feedback loop made their egos explode into all kinds of hilarious bullshit. Only people feeding into the postive feedback loop and delusions were allowed to be “friends” or supporters of the star of the show and her momager.
Some bored suburbanites gloomed onto the “local girl” medical drama and made it a weird little group, which probably only lasted so long due to drama and many catching on to the BS. It migrated to a wider FB audience because it’s way easier to bullshit strangers that only know what you tell them.
Only just noticed this. These threads (here and reddit) have been consuming my life faster than morgy’s death-illnesses are consuming hers. But you’d be surprised. She was actually really popular, everyone liked her. She was a two sport athlete (soccer and basketball I think? Soccer and lacrosse? Idfk). She was pretty and nice to everyone and just generally really normal. We live in a pretty well-off suburb. Middle-to-upper-middle class. Phenomenal school district. Insane property taxes lol. I was jealous af of her in like middle school/ early high school. Then she got mono and was genuinely sick for a month or so, and just... stayed sick. Everyone loved her at the time, so she got a TONNNN of attention and boo-hoos and pity and shit. Classmates probably sent cards and flowers and shit, since it’s around the time we all started driving and getting jobs (or at least had slightly older friends who could drive and all of our parents had plenty of money to give us to buy the sick girl presents). She just loved that. And her mom got the same attention and ass pats for being “such a good mom for taking such great care of her” and thrived off all the “idk how you do it!” comments. They live in the kind of neighborhood where I’m sure neighbors would send over food along with their ass pats for Laurie who must have just been way too overwhelmed to cook and should focus on caring for her poor daughter. All that kind of stuff. They just loved it and never looked back. Claimed the mono “brought out all of these dormant illnesses” and just took off with it. She’s been soooper sick ever since.

When you're on that kind of pain, the lights ain't on. The phone ain't on. You can't talk. Sustained 10/10 pain is incompatible with life. They're called suicide headaches for a reason.
She wouldn't have a list of something with cluster headaches at the end, if she really had them. She'd have cluster headaches, and some other mildly annoying medical conditions, everything else that isn't going to kill you soon becomes background noise when those hit.

It does seem amazing Morgan didn’t always annoy everyone around here, but not too surprised. Teenagers aren’t known for great social acumen or judgement. A lot of munchies seem to have been athletes or performers before muching out. Jackie and Vegan Ginger come to immediate mind. Eating disorders are almost a munchie pre-requisite too.
Some people proposed that as the skill and competition levels increased, and these girls realize they aren’t going to make the cut at any elite or high level, they turn to munching as both an excuse, convenient tragic drama (it cut short my promising ballet, ice skating, soccer, running, career) and a much easier source of adulation and support. Athletes usually have to share the spotlight with teammates, but munchies are solo acts that get all the attention to themselves ...well I guess it’s a duo in Morgie’s case.
Morgan’s mom is really what makes her interesting. Morgan is an absurd, yet very common munchie in most ways but the mom’s participation in the munchie passion play to the point of helping to get her in hospice care is just a whole nother level.
I think the Disney obsession is in the same vein as their weird, shared "I am so smol and frail and kid-like! uwu" complex. I'm not a psychiatrist or anything, but maybe they're trying to shift back into childhood to escape from adulthood in a really unhealthy way?
I mean why not go full Jaq? Since she wants to be her so badly just get a lot of abdominal/stomach surgeries until your guts twist over itself and you die of sepsis!
Jesus fuck...that's sad. Somehow using pets for meds never occurred to me. I can understand the appeal of junkieism, but at the expense of a poor helpless animal? That's sick. Just buy it on the street you can give your pet their prescribed meds. I wonder how vets deal with this? Cuz it's gotta be an issue. You can't just not give meds tho, an animal can't even undertand why its in pain, can't meditate etc, doesn't know it will end. I wish there was a way to make sure the pet was getting the meds. Bottom line tho is munchies do not belong owning pets cuz of this shit. They'll either steal its meds or MBP it, and either I consider to be abuse. Goddam.

IME, docs don't really do anything if your cbc comes back with counts slightly over or under the standard. Pernicious anemia tends to be more dramatic (when it shows on tests) and happens slowly over a long period.
