Found this masterpiece on Deviantart
I told the artist “there are LGBT people that like yaoi/yuri” and they responded “EHH YAOI/YURI IS HARMFUL TO THE LGBT COMMUNITY EHH PEOPLE THAT LIKE IT SHOULD BE RE-EDUCATED EHH”
It remember me of a anectode in a discord server. I was asking the difference between top/bottom seme/uke dynamic. One complained that it make her feel uncomfortable mind you they use the term top and bottom reguarly ironically without anybody bathing an eye. Their main excuse, I shit you not; the top-bottom thing was created by actual LGBT people, and yaoi was made by people fetishizing us which is kinda... ew

Top and bottom is like, Sub and dom. These terms are okay and comfortable because they're used in the LGBT community and the bdsm community. Seme/Uke, that was made by people who fetishized gay men. Thus the uncomfy feeling when using it
They are not the same, and using it will offend gay men or make us intensely umcomfortable...

I kinda agree that the seme/uke dynamics shouldn’t be used when talking about real gay people, however, i don’t mind when it’s used when talking about fictional gay people.

I'm very scared, also 20 bucks the bro was her sister but they transitioned.

So after reading the article I couldn't help but notice they effectiv repeat themselves when describing the characters. Here is the excerpt for the vampire

Not a copy paste job but every character is so shallow they can't write more than one paragraph about them without repeating.

And it looks like the "effort" is backfiring the fuck out. Some Twitterinas are really offended and triggered over this deal. :story:

Only a teenaged girl would think that tops are doms and bottoms are subs. Topping and bottoming refers to who is pitching, and who's catching, respectively. Terms like power bottoms and service tops exist for a reason.

It's easy to assume that tops are always dominant when you're getting all your information from yaoiz. Semes and ukes have a very distinct dynamic where the seme is the top, and the uke is the bottom, with virtually no deviation. Going further, "semes" are tall, masculine, domineering, and probably have a dick thicker than the twink they're fucking's arm. "Ukes" are simpering, spindly little twinks that can be mistaken for women, often serve the same traditional roles as women (cooking or cleaning for the seme, as an example), and start crying before the tip even goes in. Junjou Romantica is usually a baby fujoshit's first yaoi, and I think demonstrates this well.

The relationships depicted in yaoi can often border on abusive, in contrast to bara (muscle guys fucking each other), which has a usually more egalitarian dynamic. The one thing this person got right is that the terms seme and uke were pioneered by the fujoshits of yore who were absolutely fetishizing gay men, who tended to hate it for the most part.

In conclusion, top/bottom have nothing to do with dom/sub, but yaoi characters always are in dom/sub relationships.

This is the faggiest thing I've ever written
