My thought - the longer the draconian anti-WuFlu measures remain in place, the sooner people are likely to start blowing them off. Already see lots of people driving around on "essential" trips, and our "shelter-in-place" has just started. People can also easily compare the WuFlu and "regular" flu statistics and ask, "WTF?"

Okay this is a question I need to get answered asap:
I got a package from Hong Kong I ordered beginning of December last year.
It came in an air tight package. You know those plastic-elastic dhl packaging. When it arrived I wore mask and protection goggles. I packaged it now 3 times in a garbage back and put it somewhere safe outside my apartment. How long you guys think I should wait before opening the package?

I know this is a troll but lets talk about this. The longest number I've seen/ heard has been three days. You can just let it set that long and you should be good. If you dont want to you are fine opening it as long as you do not snort or lick the box. Dump it out on a newpaper or something, take the box out to the trash, wipe down the doorknobs, parts of doors you touched and anything else you touched, then wash your hands before you pick your teeth, nose, or rub your eyes.

As long as people dont have cuts/ open sores on their hands you should be all right to handle things as long as you wash them afterward and leave your face alone. Personally I've been wearing rubberized work gloves for stuff like this or when out shopping cause I'm paranoid. You should be fine without it but you can do something like that for peace of mind also.

Like, say we take the 475 figure and times it by 5, to equate to a population of 300 million. So, 2375. Then times that by the rough time frame you provided of around six months. So, 180 days, for arguments sake? So, if COVID-19 had been around in the US and as widespread and killing at the rate as it is in Italy right now for around six months, it would have killed around 427,500 people. Compared to the 22,000 from flu.
