Here's a plausible model of containment working. This is South Korea, not China because in South Korea it's harder to cover up inconvenient truths than it is in China. South Korea is not perfect though - even if the government can't do it, it's not impossible that national pride may make individual Koreans lie that the problem is under control out of a misguided sense of patriotism. Still it's the only country I can find outside of China where the problem seems to be under control.
If you look at the period between Feb 26 and March 08 it's the time when new cases were over 250 day. It's also not a long period of time - a mere 11 days. The UK is in an earlier phase of the outbreak. I don't really know why cases seem to drop off March 14 to March 16, but it's probably an artifact of the way they are counted. Actually, South Korea's bell curve seems to have some noise in it too. Maybe it's just a lower population means a smaller sample size which means more noise.

Why are people saying masks won't work then changing their tune to "wear a mask"? Wasn't it proven because it can get in the eyes and face anyway, or did something change?

Could delivery services like Uber Eats be considered "essential"? I've actually recently logged back into my driver app and signed up for food delivery. It used to be just for beer money and boredom but now it's looking like it will be my only income source for the next few weeks.

The big thing a mask does is make it more difficult to touch your face, pick your nose, etc. Watch some people for 5 minutes and you'll be amazed and disgusted how many people casually put their fingers in their mouth, chew their nails, and generally rub their contaminated mitts all over their face. It can also lessen the spray from people who wear them when they cough or sneeze.

My take?
This is a very neutral in a non political manner. The information though is excellent.
Again. I will state the following:
WASH your hands with a bar of soap. REASON. A bar of soap will last longer over time than liquid. It is planned by the soap companies to be a convenient and profitable way to increase profits. Soap Bars are CHEAP. It will last you a very long time than liquid soap. you can also use a bar of soap for emergency washing your clothes. My grand parents did this as they had soap bars made for washing clothes and dishes.
Separate your clothing one for work and one for home. Shoes for outside and shoes for inside. Disinfect your shoes with lysol type of spray if you like but still out side close at a designated space. I have mine in a hamper in the garage away from eating and sleeping areas.
I'm going to add gloves to this list as I am seeing more and more people using the disposable types. That's okay but an expensive option. A cheaper and reusable option is the Cotton Inspector Gloves that are also use for covering larger hand injuries.
I use them when I go out and when I am done they go in the wash. They generally last for 4 to 10 washes and you get them cheap in bulk.
Plastics are mostly one and done. However there is no rule about reusing them. You wash them with soap while you have them on and hang them up to dry. It's another option that I use at times, but my go to is the cotton ones as they are more comfortable in the hands.
AVOID large gatherings. STAY WAY FROM THE CHINESE... PERIOD. They are the ones that continue to spread the virus around and they did hide AND CONTINUE TO HIDE their own infected kind from the rest of the world in their China town communities. Those are the fucking facts. They do NOT give one shit about anyone else except themselves and ONLY themselves.
Unless a lot of sheeple get real stupid, real fast, I do not think in most of the US our water supply will be in danger. I also do not think we will be little or no real power outages as well. That is unless people get stupid.
The virus will change the way we think of things in the short term. Lets try not to forget it's lessons.

The mask thing always seemed a bit bogus to me. If it's a virus which spreads via droplets in the air, can only enter via mucus membranes and survives on surfaces you can get it in these ways from someone outside your immediate family
1) Touch a surface with it on, touch your eyes or mouth.
2) Inhale a droplet.
3) Have a droplet land in your eye.
If you wash your hands regularly that takes care of 1). Having some sort of mask might stop 2). Sure you're still open to 3) but just because protection is imperfect it doesn't mean it's not worth doing. Humans inhale vast amounts of air and it seems like inhaling droplets is going to be a common way to get it.
It's also suspicious when glorified bloggers posing as journalists all suddenly start harping on 'masks don't work'. They may well all be basing their articles on a press release, and that press release may come from the government who are concerned about mask shortages inside the healthcare system. In which case the full story is something like 'Masks work but only if you're trained to use them. It makes sense to reserve them for healthcare workers'. Which is not quite the same as 'Masks don't work'. However, I can't find any data on coronavirus infection vectors. Assuming you wash your hands a shitload like everyone does is 2) much more common than 3)?

The N95 mask can protect against most aerosol versions of the virus. But if you get it on your skin, like say your fingers touching a door knob and then rub your eyes you could get it that way too. Some masks also dont form a good seal around your face and the virus could get in that way too. You tend to breath harder in a mask too so this is a big problem as well.

I’m very proud of my state and my governor for halting all evictions and foreclosures until at least May. So many people are facing either no or diminished income because of the pandemic; throwing people out of their homes during an international crisis beyond their control is just inexcusable and disgusting. Not to mention dangerous.
Of course, there are assholes like landlords and some GOP politicians who are pissed because of “MUH GOVERNMENT OVERREACH” and “THINK ABOUT THE BANKS!!” It’s amazing how little compassion some people have. There are good landlords and businesses that don’t need a government order to stop them from throwing quarantined people onto the streets but there’s also a lot of assholes who totally would do that if they were allowed to.
