Yeah I mean, I'm not depending on that in any way at all, I've got my eye on the money meter so I can just legit break the lease and dip out for my parents' place if it looks like I can't get the wheels spinning in time.
But I recall some of these "it's all good brah" have been mentioning Section 8 and a lot of other qualifiers that seemed to tie them to various levels of government programs.

The IRS offer is one I'm definitely interested in, going from "pay my independent contractor taxes in one shot in April" to "use that pile of money to survive and set up a payment plan" was already a big part of my current keikaku

Be careful if you're in an area with a high druggie population. They're going to be the first to go batshit during a lockdown. Some will try to break quarantine to get their fix. These are people who can already spread stuff like hepatitis c on a normal day of shooting up heroin. Imagine how much of a boon they are for our girl Corona-chan.

Travis AFB update

  • Leadership is still going back and forth between thinking about having people who can work remotely doing so and making them come in to work at the base hospital.
  • Minimal manning is in effect, but the staff rotations are going to defeat the purpose for reasons that anyone with an IQ over refrigerator-temp can see. There's a chance they'll nope out of rotations after all, but I wouldn't bet on it.
  • Hospital staff are still forbidden from wearing PPE of any kind unless directly treating a patient.
  • The gun shop section at the BX (Base Exchange; think a smaller version of Target with military stuff here and there) is busy as hell and are running dry on budget firearms. The cheapest shotgun they've got left in stock is $700, which is shocking, considering how cheap most of their shotguns usually are. They're taking orders for any guns that are Commiefornia compliant, so there's that at least. Let's just hope those orders can be filled in a timely manner, or even filled at all. While we're at it, hope that the people buying all the guns are going to be defending their homes in stead of raiding other's.

Thinking about all of this is making me worry a lot for my friends who live off base. I don't know how many of you are aware of this, but there's a large prison complex right next to the base between us and where most who live off base are. With state prosecutors trying to get who knows how many prisoners released and police response reduced, I'm having a lot of trouble with all of this. Again, PLEASE keep yourselves and your families safe. Predatory people are going to take advantage of chaos and lack of consequences.

While the dead still sadly rise, this is the first daily positive figure to have gone down. Yesterday's jump was 673.

UK National Testing is now aiming to be able to test 25,000 a day. Once again showing the NHS's terrifying industrial capacity when really called upon.

Remember, the National Socialist Party in Germany started as a bunch of proto-hippies who just wanted to see a better integration of industry and governance.

The convergence of right-wing and left-win interests turned that government into something that gets mentioned more often today than Republican and Democrat combined.

AOC and Trump must be prevented from uniting into a super-demagogue. It would be unstoppable.
