Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

So 1 of the 2 coworkers that I briefly mentioned earlier in the thread who I thought posed a potential risk of exposing everyone at my job to infection- and who has been admitted to the hospital for the past week - has tested positive for the virus, which I learned just this evening. Yet they have also been released from the hospital, which means they must be in decent enough shape to go home and self isolate I guess? Why would a hospital discharge a possible carrier or full blown infected individual? My only guess is so they can free up some beds for the new infected cases that will be rolling in since its obvious we're already deep in the shit.

Now I'm getting antsy and starting to worry, cuz if some random 20-something latino working in a niche industry in NorCal can catch this thing then that means this fucker is literally *everywhere* and we are already fucked.

Man, what a fuckin' timeline.

That's why I've been saying the quarantine stuff is bullshit. It's already everywhere.

But I don't know anymore. The Orientals seem to have it under control. The Europeans don't.

From what I've heard they are only keeping the most severe cases at the hospital and everyone else gets sent home to isolate, there's just not enough room to keep everyone who tests positive. The predictions for how many people will get infected are enormous.

Everyone in a red zone should be assume they've already been exposed. This is why we should all be wearing masks, like they say to do if you might be sick, but there aren't enough masks so we can't. I think they just don't want to come out and directly say "yeah that would totally help but we're shit out of luck because there aren't enough"

Oh, Great Britain, acting like your relevant or anyone cares what you think.

Those guys never have gotten over the fact that we cucked them over the atom bomb, the Skybolt missile, and ... well just about everything else, have they?
I hate that bitch, didn't she work for Blair at some point?

National guard vehicles being moved to assist with outbreak in California.
Those are JLTVs. The only branches that have them are Army and USMC. They are probably getting shipped to twentynine palms. Besides that, there is no way this is her video. I know exactly one asian girl that listens to country music and she is a walking movie-gag stereotype.

ETA: I just noticed there are no unit markers on the trucks. Those are probably brand new JLTVs getting shipped out of the Oshkosh plant.

In my largish county of 200k+, our largest industry is health services. We have 3 large hospitals, one with world class heart surgeons. The reports I am hearing from my RN friends, especially those in the neo-nate sector, they are seeing more C-sections performed on women who are displaying any signs of flu/cold. The thinking is that if the infant does not pass thru the birth canal, they are less exposed to risk of Covid19 infection. This is good for the newborns, less so for the mother, since it requires a longer stay in the hospital for recovery. Wish I could give you better info. When I asked why the mothers are not being tested for WuFlu the common answer seems to be a matter of logistics.
With so many tests being performed here, the labs are overwhelmed, and babies come when they will, not giving a lot of lead time to perform the tests and get back results.

Our pediatrician told me that babies have a passive immunity through the mother.

If the mother is suspected of having Covid-19, wouldn't performing major surgery on her increase her risk of succumbing?

I take home around 1200 a Month after taxes, if some bunch of faggots in New York or Cali can't handle the same while also getting unemployment they can go fuck themselves for deciding to live in shitholes.

Your corporation (I have my suspicions as to which it is) can fuck itself for keeping you stuck near the poverty line.

What is your rent or house payments? 400 a month? And is it even possible to own and maintain a car on that salary?

Can you even pay the bills without EBT?

How on earth can you go to the doctor?

System is rigged that way. It isn't you. It is THEM.

Yeah that's what-about-ism. Its a common spin defense for Trump's fuck ups. Change the subject. New subject almost always involves Obama, Clinton, or "The Left"
I legitimately do not understand why so many Facebook moms keep posting these quotes as if it's some sort of massive "gotcha moment." By Jan. 31st he'd already ordered restricted travel between the U.S. to China, so it wasn't as though his administration was being completely flippant about this and just sitting on their hands even at the very onset. Everything after that is either optimistic or an attempt to keep panic to a minimum, and I can understand why you'd view the final quote as a negative if you were wearing enormous "Orange man bad" goggles, but it's the truth.

The entire planet got bitch-slapped by this and if the media hadn't spent the last 4 straight years screaming bloody murder over the drop of a hat, maybe more people would have taken them seriously. Of course even that's a crock of shit because at the very beginning of this the media and the DNC didn't take it seriously and they were screaming about how it was racist for Trump to restrict travel from China. The media and the DNC responded to this significantly slower than how they're accusing Trump of responding now.

That's probably what I'd consider a "memory hole."
