So I personally think 500k deaths is an alright estimate. 1 in 6-9 gets coronachan. The 200k figure does smell like bullshit though, what are the control measures in place? I've only been following China and Australia.

The UK's control measures are social distancing encouraged on the populace, so old folks out and about less, or if they do to distance themselves from others (lots of people doing this). Supermarkets were trying to make it so the first hour is for the more vulnerable but lots of selfish pricks just trying to rush in to get to goodies.
Lots of working from home has been encouraged as well and this applies to large swathes of the economy and seems to be working ok with technical teething troubles.
Rugby, Cricket, Football all suspended indefinitely to the point the 2020 season for most won't conclude until 2021 most likely.
Schools, Gyms, Restaurants, Cafes, leisure centres and other places of mass gatherings are now closed for the foreseeable future. Take Aways are still open and operating and effected food businesses are swapping to either take out only, or will be given assistance to do take outs. Several local cafes are saying they will do this and other big brands (Such as McDonalds, KFC etc) have closed their seating areas.
Postal workers and delivery drivers are now being given instructions to place items on people's doorsteps, knock on the door and retreat to about 1-2m away to see you are in receipt of goods. Drivers and postal workers are now signing for any parcel with audible confirmation from the person they are delivering to, this is also applying to food deliveries and people are doing their part.
Gloves and masks, even basic ones are slowly becoming more commonly seen where they're available for people.
Basically we're using the "Blitz spirit" mythos (which The Guardian predictably is
shitting on because fuck these bug people) to try and drag everyone together on this and with the steady ratcheting up of these temporary restrictions we can hopefully do well.
In the NHS, Isolation Pods have been in place since January, and some NHS Trusts cleared out their lighter used wards and turned them over to Coronavirus readiness as early as February (UK's first Corona-chan case wasn't until the end of Jan). There's been a national call to arms by the Health Secretary and government and UK Industry and producers seem to be willing and able to do things. 2.6 million masks have been issued, some 10,000+ bottles of Hand Sanitiser for the NHS have been stockpiled and issued and 1,400 UK companies have volunteered to construction ventilators en masse to help the NHS get ready for the peak.
Public transport has seen a drop in ridership and those that are riding are spreading out (the busses around Pillockshire are practically running empty at the minute) and most elderly folks are walking to and from the shops with plenty of space between them.
The only place that refused to be sensible, complete with mewling from their doctors about how unprepared they were was London. Who continued to pack all their trains and busses, and pack out all their pubs, clubs, restaurants and god knows what else as if they weren't responsible for a
third of all UK cases.
