I had seen a video earlier of a german specialist / doctor in hospital denouncing the fact the protocols have been changed / doesn't include people dying early of comorbidities linked to the Chinese virus, they are only listing people that specifically die from it and had no underlying issues, if you die from a heart attack / cardiac arrest or from organ failures of all sorts they are not including the numbers in it, i wish i could find that video tho it was coupled with an article.

They are going the "Chinese" way of reporting these deaths.

tl;dr - N95 masks do protect from corona, despite the media incessantly telling everyone they do not. Also washing your hands is not a substitute, even though the media told you it was. I reckon the 'don't buy a mask' mantra is because the government knows that the healthcare system is desperately short of masks and it's better to use the masks on the market for health care professionals than your worthless ass.

As to your reasoning with regard to the authorities telling us not to buy or wear masks: that's absolutely it. I sympathize with healthcare workers: given that they are, obviously, more exposed to a variety of illnesses than are most other people, they do need the masks. But to say that people shouldn't wear masks at all is silly, and it damages their credibility. If nothing else, it keeps disease-laden mucus from landing on someone else.

Now I've heard the case made that, unless you're in a high-density area equivalent to certain Asian countries, the N95 masks are not truly effective. Or even that in order for the masks to be truly effective, the vast majority of people should be wearing them. Either of those two reasons would be a better excuse than the blatant lie of "they don't work," because obviously, covering your face up is better at shielding your eyes and mouth from droplets than going around bare-faced.

The Problem with that idea is that there is no reporting on a massive deathwave and the situation looks alot better from the outside than in countries with alot less infected. Italy was running out of space to store bodies at this point in its timeline and even the US with less infected looks alot worse from the outside.

15% seems high, but I believe it's higher than we're being told. I read somewhere to start getting worried when the media is trying to stop panicking.

I keep seeing excuses for numbers that don't make sense. The media are unironically reporting China numbers and no new deaths in China. Excuses are being made for high numbers everywhere. Old people in Italy? Ok, what about all the people with condishuns in the US? Don't the majority of people have some condishun? I don't see any reason to believe it would be lower in US aside from geographical spread, and I would actually surmise people in US are normally sicker than Italians, regardless of how old they are.

When will they realize that nobody outside of their Twitter echochamber gives a flying fuck about their obnoxious, often wrong, often outright dangerous opinion pieces during a situation like this? Any other time it's just as worthless, too.

If all of this has really set anything in stone, for me, it has indeed set in stone that the media is 9 times out 10 totally fucking worthless and without merit. These disingenuous shitheads are not telling us anything we don't already know. They're not informing anyone. And it has also proven the usefulness of the Internet during a widespread crisis. You can convene hundreds or even thousands of people throughout the world and read the current outlook in their area and what's going on. I've learned more about this situation reading this thread than if I concentrated every single report and briefing I've seen in the past couple weeks. I'm always a bit taken aback by just how little the average person really knows about this scenario, and that's why you have dickheads out gallivanting acting like nothing is going on. The media is either trying to whip people up into blatant, misinformed, dangerous hysteria or they're trying to manipulate people into following the ideology of whoever signs their fucking checks. There is very little educational or informative coming out of these people, and hardly anything substantial.

CEO types like Trump are admittedly not 100% reliable but you definitely get the impression they survived as long as they did because they've got a sort of sixth sense in working out what advice to trust even if they don't have time to learn about technical details. This study is not really saying it propagates by cremating bodies tho, but by very fine / tiny particles, the virus can be as small as 3 micron when aerosolized and travel very far, very high, not needing "cremation" at all for this, just usual pollution in the air and dust too.

Do you have the link to the paper that they say shows a. Virus plus particles is viable and b. They can go a long way? When I click the links in the article I get to front pages and paywalls and I would like to read what they’ve found
I can imagine viruses piggybacking for very short periods of time to particles but I have a hard time believing they can travel a long way. All air pollution will correlate with deaths because all air pollution is very bad for your heart and lungs. The excess deaths caused by it are staggering.
