Hell, I'd figure that you'd be happy considering the study that he's talking about is the same sort of study that originally came out of China for SARS inhibitors and then SARS-CoV-2 , which France used to piggy-back onto their own study. Is China's original recommendation for using Hydroxychloroquine to combat the virus just fake QAnon news now? If so, that's incredibly confusing.

Just to add, remember that hospital in a little town that had 7 cases on Wednesday? Well, now there are 27 confirmed cases +further suspected among staff and patients. Which does not look good at all.
As for the deaths, just read about a quarantined guy who died in his home. He was waiting to be tested. Now only post-mortem will tell what exactly got him.

At least the hospital should be containable. The patients aren't going anywhere and the doctors/nurses and their families are easy to track, this might hopefully not spread too far as long as people stay home. What worries me more is Łódź (assuming the spread over there is limited to the city): 34 new cases there, the single greatest daily rise of any voivodeship to date. What's going on over there?

The Problem with that idea is that there is no reporting on a massive deathwave and the situation looks alot better from the outside than in countries with alot less infected. Italy was running out of space to store bodies at this point in its timeline and even the US with less infected looks alot worse from the outside.

The Fatherland generally has its shit together, in every sense of the word.

One thing about Chermany, is that they don't have these internal battles about what should and should not be regulated. ZA Chermans would not do like Trump did, and fire infectious disease specialists, for example. Change in leadership does not bring about deregulation of entire industries.

In fact pretty much everything is regulated, and there are special taxes people have to pay for everything. It doesn't go into a massive public purse, subject to funneling for one purpose over the other.

For example, they have the Krankenkasse which is basically Medicaid, for every man, woman and child who breathes and shits on German soil. They don't spontaneously decide to cut low income, or high income people out, or single men who are uninsured but "make too much money."

They also wouldn't do something stupid like dip into the Krankenkasse, to supplement pensions for the wealthy, and cut benefits for the working class.

It has been like 20 years since I lived there and I haven't followed any of it too closely either there or here in the States.

But basically the gist of it is that their system is tightly regulated and it is more like a pie, in how public money is cut and dished out, rather than a haystack, like here in the States.

Finally, they have a parliament and we have a federal republic. This means that we elect our people, more or less, based on how much we like them. Germans have a different system. I don't think that they elect their leaders, it is more like their parties put them in charge.

So basically one president or prime minister in Germany, and his or her congressional or parliamentary fan club, don't have the power to trash entire regulatory systems at the blink of an eye, like here in the States.

That is why Germany is going to be ok.

How are they explaining the virus 1. surviving the heat of cremation and 2. surviving high int he atmosphere for ANY length of time? Between the UV radiation higher in the atmosphere and the temperature extremes the virus would be wiped out. Corona is no less vulnerable to these things as other viruses.

There is not a cross large enough on the planet to doubt this thing surviving cremation and spreading via atmospheric travel.

I had to look for a while, and was not able to find the article I read several years ago, but there is some evidence that bacteria and virus can travel on the jet stream. He got that job for two reasons. One is that Boris thought Sajid Javid was going to try and do what Gordon Brown did to Blair whereas Sunak will do what Boris's advisers tell him.
