Any update on Africa, anyone? I saw a few pages back there were cases found now in most countries. Or India? Indonesia? I am curious (in a horrified way) to see what happens there. I suspect big cities and crowded areaS like townships will be hit badly and whole swathes of the interior will be unaffected, with a few local spikes where it gets into otherwise poorly connected communities.

187 out of 195 countries in the world have the virus. The few remaining countries with no known cases seem to mostly be in Africa, but they probably just haven't noticed it yet, and are early in the timeline. I haven't heard of anything going down in Africa but they do have the virus.

I survive (quite well actually) by not getting myself into debt, by not buying stupid shit that has no value and by not having a kid.

I just don't understand it because I live in a place that's basically average cost of living and I consume at least $17,000 a year living modestly. What do you spend, monthly, on food and rent? I overspend a lot on food ($450) and spend somewhat high on rent ($750) but I barely ever buy stuff otherwise. I'm going on to a grad student assistantship and am thinking about taking student loans out to avoid having to cut back on expenses. I can't fathom how you live so cheaply unless you eat rice/peanut butter sandwiches and live in a slum.

Another Texas city has a confirmed case. The 45-55 male supposedly got it from a business trip to Houston. The their mayor has said that he will not be ordering a lockdown yet.

Another thing Africa has going for it is their is such limited international travel to it. They will start spiking last, but it will get really bad in their urban slums. People forget how big cities in Africa can get. Kinshasa has almost 12 million people in it. The implications of this getting loose there is unimaginable. Their hospitals probably don't even have oxygen, let alone ventilators.

If that was his genuine intention and he just wanted everyone to shuffle back into their offices, I don't particularly believe that we'd still be getting advice to stay locked up in our homes, nor would I think that the Army being deployed to New York City make a terrific amount of sense. Chloroquine is effective in treating this, that's absolutely true, but it is not being promoted as some sort of "the pandemic is over, just take this pill" solution.

People suffering from TDS often mishear the word "treatment," and think they hear "definitive cure," instead.

Additionally, they mishear the words, "terrible virus," and instead they hear, "nothingburger."

My Rent is 625(A ridiculous amount tbh for what my apartment is) a month I spend about 200 dollars on food a month. Most of my food is frozen items (because I can't be bothered to actually cook, I could reduce that by cooking for myself but..fuuuccccckkk that)

Don't worry, I'm going into an Economics PhD. They have an unemployment rate of about 0 (actual employment in-field) and very high starting salaries (but not better than engineers/programmers). Can somebody please enlighten as to the symptoms of bronchitis vs. COVID?

PL ... (stupid) but I have this full feeling in my chest when I lie down, but to the side, it feels tighter in both sides and near the trachea. It has been a sloshiness in lower lung, one side and the other. Moving around produces unproductive cough.

Called doc and she told me NOT to go anywhere unless I can't breathe and run a fever, because there ARE people at testing places who have it and can expose further. She said that there is a snowball's chance in hell that they will test, unless you are showing extreme symptoms. The rest are advised to rest and not leave home.

That is why I am posting here. Sorry about the TMI but is anybody else having these symptoms and are they bronchitis? Bacterial pneumonia, viral, COVID, influenza?
