How does everyone here feel about the anti-biotoics and vaccines being rolled out next month? I know people havent given a fuck about China since the beginning of the month, but how come we haven't heard how they stopped the flu ( if they did) and if the antibiotics worked well.

Also even in the best scenario, the NATO countries are looking at 40k dead once alls said and done with this flu, and thats if they start churning out this vaccine and it works and the anti-biotics work. Also anyone else surprised the japs arent canceling the Olympics yet? 35% of the US is under quarantine. "Stay indoors" style orders while we presumably starve to death. Yet as far as the Japs are concerned this whole thing will be cured by the end of June. Even if thats true thats sort of insane to publicly put out. Also you just dont hear much about the japs in general. They probably are fucking with their numbers worse than the Chinese. Theyre already having population problems. Killing off the 80+ is really going to fuck things up.

Japan has no reason to lie about their numbers, though, and they aren't friendly with China. In fact, you can make the strong case that Japan these days are just plain isolationists when it comes to most global issues. The second this virus started to travel, Japan was on top of it long before it got out of hand.

They probably haven't cancelled or delayed the Olympics yet because they're too busy doing their own thing and not very worried about this pandemic at this point.

South Korea's numbers are one of the very few pieces of good news to come from this as well, as they seemed to be insanely more prepared than pretty much everyone else. They have had all of the testing readily available from the get-go, and everyone has said that has been one of the keys to their very low death rate (which is far below 1%). They also hate China. They too have no reason to lie, and we have no reason to think they're lying.

I'm terribly sorry if I'm late and gay to this, but has it already been discussed how India's numbers are, at the time of me writing this, so comparably low (332 infected and 5 deaths), while Italy and Spain for example are taking it in the ass, and not even in the Greek way?

Maybe lack of monitoring and reporting? This would be due in Russia and Turkey to the criminalization of reporting, but India an innocent explanation of lower and resource constrained efforts at detection might be at work. Maybe Apu is immune?

Anyone know about COV19 and Africa?

germany crossed the 1000 infected line at the same day as france and a day earlier than spain. on the 8th of march. the UK crossed that line on the 14th.
Italy crossed the line on the 29th of feb and had over 100 deaths after 4 days. its now 13 days after germany crossed that line and the deaths are still below 100.
germany is around a week behind italy on the infection timeline (21k cases) but 17 days and counting behind the death timeline of italy.
the uk is 6 days behind germany on the infection timeline but is 4 days ahead on the deathtimeline. they also have been ahead in deaths for 16 days.

germany should start to see lots of deaths right now, but it isnt. so the healthcare system of germany is way better, the infected parts of the population are way different or the german government can keep stuff hidden much better than any government in the world.

Here's an interesting theory.

The Chinese have been shipping TCM to Africa for about the last month. Various Ministers of Health have made speeches about the curative properties.

The Chinese also have nearly unlimited access to various pharmaceuticals.

What if they did discover a defense against Coronavirus and started putting in TCM IV bags without telling the rest of the world? Good way to make TCM look superior to Western medicine.

Another Africa theory: they take a lot of medicine for malaria. What if that's the reason they're not getting sick?

As far as 3D printing ventilators goes, I've seen doctors without borders videos of doctors fashioning oxygen masks out of styrofoam coffee cups. You know, the shitty ones you get for 50cents at a gas station. When things get thin, shit gets makeshift real quick.

I mean, it's technically possible that Germany's government is as deliberately bad as the UK ('let them die' - Boris Johnson) at dealing with pandemics, or that their people are as disagreeable and prone to not complying with public health measures as Anglos, the people who inflicted libertarianism on the world, and they're just covering things up.

But I doubt it.
