In another topic, I wished the media would focus more on those who recovered rather than going overboard reporting the numbers of infected and dead people. I still kind of feel that way. However, I am genuinely worried about this pandemic. Especially since my home is in lockdown and quarantine mode and I don't want my mother, who is in her 60s, to potentially get it.

It was Detroit, which makes it incredibly terrifying. They've been over extended for years. I love how they immediately moved everybody else to their backup facility to sanitize the main one... yeah your other dispatchers probably have it as well. You've now contaminated both spaces. Well done! If you've ever seen a 911 Call Center, Social Distancing isn't really an option. Most I've seen aren't even Cube Farms. They look more like the old NASA Mission Control Rooms. There is no seperation between dispatchers.

In Puerta del Mar, Cadiz, some guy entered weeks ago to traumatology, and was kept on the hospital with treatment for injuries.

His wife has reportedly been leaving and returning to the hospital in secret, the hospital staff was trying to punish her for it, but hadn't managed to get the cops on her yet. (She was his companion, but companions due to alarm have strict rules on when to live and come and under what conditions.)

Why is this important? He started showing symptoms for a respiratory infection. He said it was just a cold and he's had it for a while now. They tested him anyway. He has corona.

There are two worrying parts to this. First, since he was interned for a traumatic injury, well, they've not been following the protocol for a respiratory illness. Meaning he might've infected the people helping him move, bringing him food, etc. Fuck he even was in a room with a second patient.

The second is we don't even know if he's lying to cover his wife (for obvious reasons) or he's actially really had the cold from the start. Again, traumatic injury, that shit's left in the waiting room with everyone else without further protocol.

We still know nothing but emergency protocol has kicked into high gear and everyone's a bit on the edge as we don't know if we're about to get another outbreak. If it comes we're ready, but, well, we'd rather it doesn't.

Even scarier thought. He was in a Med Surg unit recovering from a Trauma. So no Respiratory or Isolation Protocols. It's probably not his wife/GF. It's more likely he caught it from one of the Nurses or Care Providers. When you get sick in the Hospital, the first assumption is not a family member brought it in. It's that it is running through the Hospital.

As much as I agree with that, unfortunately, recoveries don't sell unless it's a celebrity. It's all about the doom and gloom, the quarantines and the conspiracies, and those damn Chinese ruining everyone's lives. And neither the MSM or social media are going to bend over and take the truth willingly because lies and doom sell more than good news these days.

Sure there's certainly a reason to be worried, but the fact of the matter is that no one, not the news outlets, not the conspiritards on social media or /pol/, and certainly not the government (at least not publically) really care about the recoveries going on, just the deaths and the social and economical decline.

Just was told of another horrifying one. Out of the cluster in Albany Georgia. A young healthcare worker died. She was a Mamography Tech. She was discovered dead at home after work hadn't been able to contact her for two days. They called in a welfare check. PD found her dead and her infant roaming the house. No "sauce" this one hasn't hit the news yet.

Are they thinking Corona/pneumonia? Seems odd for someone to just drop with no symptoms especially when young.

Watch it be a brain aneurysm or something else tragic and then not get covered because it isnt coronavirus.

Asia also have a very strong "saving face" and "shame" culture. The official may have just killed himself to save face in the event of a major fuck up. Given S. korea's slow spread and low death rate I'd think that was a bit premature.
