A legitimate government is the extension of its constituents, America recognizes China as a legitimate state, so when Trump says the virus is China's fault he must imply that it's due to an inherent fault of Chinamen. It couldn't possibly be that this recognition is for practical reasons, everything serves some high or profoundly evil purpose in their world. White people get blamed for the actions of their 15th-19th century governments all the time, so why wouldn't they assume that we're doing the same thing to the Chinese race?

If the powers that be had a shred of honesty in their bodies, possibly. I feel like this crisis, more than anything, is reinforcing in the minds of americans how much of the political world is just the people with power and their controlled opposition.
