Like with knobs on cupboards and drawers or even doors that aren't hanging right anymore, just jam parts of a popsicle stick in there to make the hole smaller so the screw gets some extra traction and something to attach itself to. It only takes a couple of minutes and that's counting the time it takes to eat the popsicle.

Or just get some wood putty. Or just mix some sawdust with some glue and screw it into that and clamp or otherwise hold it in place until the glue sets. There are so many ways to do this from total Afro-engineering to fancy shit. All of them work. All of them should be within the capabilities of a person of even average intelligence.

Agree, even a glue stick and some thick paper works if you glue, fold, glue, fold until you get something thick enough. Looking at the problem while eating an ice cream seemed more up Jake's alley in terms of effort. If he let some of the ice cream dry out he could probably get a satisfactory result if he pushes that in with a pencil before screwing it back, the desk is probably particle board with the underside covered in boogers and semen stalactites so who cares if the solution is nasty.
