It's so telling with people like Labelle, they have to insert themselves into every tiny event; Every death hits them harder, ever disaster is personally effecting them halfway around the world and every piece of news is about them.
You know the saying goes "Those that cry the loudest usually grieve the least"
Also if the headline hadn't been about the co-creators death but had instead been about, oh I don't know, the storylines involving:

And yes, you and I both know that these types of comics were products of a certain time and of people from specific places and that we should look back not with shame but with pride at how far we've all come, but you also know that Labelle and crew love to find any instance of someone so much as uttering a "problematic" word at any point in their past to burn them at the stake today, completely censor their works or discredit their opinions and/or ideas, so please don't take this as me bagging on the creators.
