India needs to be on the poll. As bad as it is here, in the thick of it- it's going to be catastrophe there. I can't imagine.

With how god awful it is outside of the cities WuFlu will spread like wildfire through the Shitlands. The monkies will feast on the dead and who knows how that is going to work when you have infected primates now virtually swinging through trees from city to city shitting wherever.

Governments around the world are using high-tech surveillance measures to combat the coronavirus outbreak. But are they worth it?
The consequences of the measures we introduce today, however, will be permanent. That’s why the tech we deploy now must be proportionate to each phase of the outbreak. Openness from governments and consultation with the public will ensure it’s within the rule of law and preserves our basic human rights.

I'm thinking of my own field actually- we're straining a little under the load already and we're the slow-mo section. The body disposal there is already fucked; even a little extra and they'll be keeping them piled in the street.

Those old engravings and paintings of the Black Death, you see the open mass graves. Here, we will cremate. No funeral, no burial for a while I'm sure, once this is done kicking in.

In India though? Those are going to be as good as modern photographs.

I'm expecting WW2 Holocaust pit burning video to be the norm in India during this time. With India being a democracy the videos will appear and there is absolutely nothing anyone can do to stop it. All it takes is one infected person to flee to the countryside and that whole village will need to be burnt Vitetcong style.

The only reason that we aren't seeing these types of videos out of Iran/China is due to the internet lockdown. India? Freedom of the West, squalor of the East.

On a personal note, I ordered some equipment 1.5 months ago like eye protection, no sign of it.

My money working plastic gloves are getting holey and there is no resupply.

I have started patching them with scavenged parts of other gloves, thus turning 3 holed ones into 2 usable ones. Not sure how long I can keep this up.

At least my Spacemarine plastic crack had me with lots of repair glue.

TL / DR People are stupid, I'm angry about it.

Just had a supermarket delivery. Lots of substitutions, but basically achieved a standard shop. So that's good news.
I asked the guy if he'd been busy, he said pretty much back to normal now compared to last week, but he'd spoken to the Bin men and I quote:
"They've never seen so much food waste"
So apparently all those idiots clearing the shelves of perishable goods last week are throwing them in the bin this week. I know this was expected but it makes me so fucking angry. Morons. Utterly selfish dribbling morons.

Side note: It was impossible to maintain social distancing during the delivery. We tried but failed. I reckon these delivery guys must be a brilliant vector for spread.

Actually this is good news. As I told y'all it was the PERISHABLE shelves being cleaned. So eithet that goes to the bin or the hospitals would fill with foodborne infections from putrid stuff.

So really it's not so much selfishness as it's the fact they were fucking idiots when buying it. Yay?

WHEW LADS WE DID IT NEXT STOP 1 MILLION!

It'll great news to wake up to Tuesday morning

Also you would think with all the money the government is shoving into businesses it would get a say, the fed is seizing the means of production but its a silent partner. You would think Trump would want to force these companies hands, if you have 20% of a business you should be forcing their hands.

I hope people realize the only reason the market is up is because the us is spending a trillion a day buying everything in sight. The fed is going full Brewster's trillions

My base just went to HPCON Charlie. So the gate guards will probably be scanning peoples' temperatures at the gate when scanning I.D.'s.

They plan on bringing the soldiers who live off base on base? I assume the next step would be to prohibit the troops leaving the installations without command authorization.

Urban Oklahoma updates are not great. I'm guessing we'll get pozzed mostly via the Dallas area which is also picking up. Some from NOLA and Houston since there is still energy traffic between the cities. They're on the list of essential industries. Anyway, 248 infected and 7 dead by latest information, with the main pockets in OKC, Norman, and Tulsa. It has infiltrated a nursing home in Norman. I believe 3 have died there so far.

Anyway, never fear, our governor has shit figured out--

Actually, you know what, fuck it. I guess I'll just sit back and watch it all unfold.

Garfield county still has none but there have to be people walking around here with it already.

Just how many Okies post here?

Finally, we are leading to a resolution here in France, the general public and some actors spoke out about the complete absurdity of the complete "ban" on hydroxychloroquine when it has been used for almost 60 years in travels to Africa and prescribed to healthy people to prevent some of the shit you can catch in these part of the world.

The narrative was that, the hydroxychloroquine molecule was POISON ! that it would kill many more people than coronavirus, that it was irresponsible, dangerous, etc, but the Dr Didier Raoult that advised that treatment to the government and was part of a task force around coronavirus just violently closed the door and made statements about the lack of morals of not using this easy and cheap treatement coupled with anti virals, and it has gone viral because people were following his studies at Marseille for more than 2 weeks now and he had validated that it was working pretty well in preventing the ARDS syndromes/ effects of covid 19 and preventing people from just having to be hospitalized, plain and simple.

The government released the "ban" on these drugs maybe two days ago after that, but ONLY for a use on severe cases and intensive care cases, wich was completely out of touch and stupid, sabotaging the preventive use of that drug.

Now a lot of what you would consider "rational" and good willed well known figures in France (like actors or former politicians leaning to the right of the political spectrum ) like Eric Cantona, used their platform to give a serious warning to the government and the big pharma lobbies that are very very influencial in France that, as many other countries in the world (like china, s korea, india , the us, germany and belgium now) are using this drug as it's recommanded to be used ( with your doctor prescription of course and to prevent the illness to agravate) and that it's still BANNED from use and prescription in France just to please the money makers and vaccine makers of the pharmaceutical predators, and to just save the Face of the husband of Agnès Buzyn that has a PERSONNAL grief and problem with Didier Raoult (yes, they litterally are childrens here and would just let people die for "pride" and to make money and just sabotage a study by using the drug improperly , kill people to justify their views and make that guy look bad.) That if they pursue this way they are going to face consequences that they never ever thought possible, that the yellow vests movement and protest they seen for 2 years would be a joke in the wake of what's coming for them.

Today, these bastards finally gave up, but not entirely on the ban of the drug, it can tho, be used and prescribed but "only" in hospitals to people tested positive.

It needed almost everyone getting up in arms and threatening the government, a dozen of class action lawsuits from medical head staffs around the country and lawyers happily adding to it, targetted at the current minister of health and the previous one, targetting the vice minister and the president for them to finally "open up" a little on that drug.

That's just Fucking incredible. To think they banned it the 13 january, everyone is accusing the government of wanting a lot of death toll from this, that the conflict of interests linking Agnès buzyn and her husband to the wuhan lab, to big pharma and the economics behind it wanted things to go real bad to sell a higher priced cure that was supposed to come in collaboration with China's labs, this has spread like wildfire and people are getting pissed. Now they are doing damage control on Television talking about "an end to the crisis" all suddenly, like that, all of a sudden. They were talking about doom and keeping everyone under the horror of this pandemic a few days ago, like it was almost funny to them.

so the timeline was like this :

- Agnès Buzyn knew how bad things really were the 20 th december, she admitted it in "le monde" newspaper interview and she alerted the vice president and the president about the situation at Wuhan
- She still Sent all the strategic stocks of masks and protective medical equipment to China the 7th of january
- She signed some executive shit to ban the use of plaquenil and nivaquine, the hydroxichloroquine molecule as a "venomous" drug of type 2
- She kept saying it was a nothing burger until february the 1st
- She and her husband Yves Levy opposed completely to the treatment Dr Didier Raoult since the very first day he came out about it in january too citing south korean and chinese methods / cases where that treatment worked
- The media launched a full on propaganda AGAINST the hydroxychloroquine since february telling how dangerous, deadly it can be, that it was worse than getting coronavirus and stupid shit like that
- Raoult said "fuck it i'm slaming the door on Macron's Face and i begin testing and treating everyone in my hospital at Marseille for whoever wants to be treated, we have stocks, try to stop us"
- The government and media shouted that what he was doing was unethical, dangerous, etc etc
- Everyone at it's hospital is getting fucking cured, "oh my god it's so dangerous no one get into a critical condition"
- Government cuts fundings for the hospital / research labs of Dr raoult in pure autistic screech
- Dr raoult "God damn, i never knew Hydroxychloroquine could basically be used as holy water for both the covid19 and to pharmaceutical lobbies and the media right now..." - figuratively speaking
- The media : finally we may be seeing an end to this crisis, sob sob, snort, it was fun while it lasted, what are we going to fearmonger about now ? sob...

Total Win.

I'll take all my X's, but as far as disruption of everyday life goes... it's not third worlders that need global supply chains, regular travel hundreds of thousands of miles, excessive social gatherings and fully functioning infrastructure on a daily basis. This is adding yet another problem they dont need yeah, but its comparing toppling a 1000 block tall well constructed lego tower, to knocking over 3 mega blocks stacked sloppily on top of each other.
Agreed- in many third-world countries, the government and the global economy might as well not exist outside the capital- which is a concept foreign to many first-world countries.

IMO, given the estimated lethality of the virus, places like Africa will see an increased death rate, but it'll probably be statistical noise considering the menagerie of even deadlier diseases that already exist there.

There won't be any sort of panic-inducing, economy-crashing reaction and life will go on almost normally.

Edit: India-Pakistan-Bangladesh are the countries to keep an eye on. Their governments are far more involved in daily life, the population is denser, and they have huge numbers of day labourers/service workers who are literally one day away from total impoverishment and starvation- long urban quarantines will likely be impossible.
Millions of other daily-wage earners are in a similar situation. The lockdown announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday evening means they are now facing no prospect of income for the next three weeks. The likelihood is, some will run out of food in the coming days.
Most do not have access to pensions, sick leave, paid leave or any kind of insurance. Many do not have bank accounts, relying on cash to meet their daily needs.

Lots are migrant workers, which means that they are technically residents of a different state to the one where they work. Then there is the problem of the floating population: people who do not live in any state for a long period as they move around to find work.

Rickshaw drivers, itinerant produce peddlers, maids, day labourers and other informal workers form the backbone of the Indian economy, comprising around 85 per cent of all employment, according to official data. Many buy food with the money they make each day and have no savings to fall back on.

Untold numbers are now out of work and many families have been left struggling to eat.

“Our first concern is food, not the virus,” said Suresh Kumar, 60, a bicycle rickshaw driver in New Delhi.
