You really think billionaires contribute anything to the economy? On an individual level all they do is get money from other people's work.

Work from jobs people otherwise wouldn't have if it wasn't for the billionaire founding the company.
High risk, high reward baby, the guy who founds a company is taking a bigger risk and innovating more than someone who simply signs up with an already existing company, why shouldn't they reap the most rewards?
It doesn't always work that way to be fair, but this idea that billionaires never fairly earn their billions is total bullshit.

It's like something out of cyberpunk fiction, in fact in the cyberpunk novel Snow Crash author Neal Stephenson mentions a literal church that worships Elvis Presley, this is even weirder.
That's things in a nutshell, we're living in a cyberpunk dystopia in our reality now, but it's not as glamorous or cool as what cyberpunk fiction imagined, it's instead lame and stupid.
A church worshiping Elvis would still be blasphemy and not really cool, but it's at least not as stupid as deifying Trayvon.
People really are some deranged, unhinged mother fuckers these days, I wish I could go back in time to 2012 and show people that's what the Trayvon thing would lead to, I bet even most left wing people would go "what the fuck?" back in days before woke really took hold.
On a side note Snow Crash is eerily prescient in another big way and that's despite the futuristic America setting there's still lots of racial tension, Neal Stephenson is the only sci fi writer I can think of that predicted racism would still be a problem in the future.

If Steve Jobs didn't start Apple then some other company would've filled the void in the electronics imdustry and hired those people.
CEOs aren't the ones innovating, do you Bill Gates personally created Windows? He hires people who innovate and pays them a fraction of the money they've made him.
No one fairly earns a billion dollars, do you think the average CEO works a million times harder than the average person?

Guys like Bill Gates get the ball rolling on innovating by having a vision and picking the right people to pull that vision off.
"work" is a relative term, they aren't working a million times harder than the average person in a physical sense, but they are working a far more complicated job than the average person, what do you think running a company like Amazon, Apple or Microsoft is like? It's not sitting on your ass doing nothing, that's for sure.
They're probably in a near constant state of work mindset and rarely get to reap their benefits of actually having all that moolah, that's why I don't envy that position, I wouldn't want the stress of running an entire company in my hands, knowing if I fuck up I'll cost a lot of people their jobs.
I can't imagine the stress really, so why shouldn't they be able to live large once in a while and yuk it up on a yacht or whatever? Who gives a shit?
Look, not every CEO or billionaire out there is Billy Buttercup, it's true, it's a ruthless world we live in, but on the flip side to that the idea that *every* billionaire did not fairly earn their money is bullshit.
There's a bigger issue at play here as well and that's the sheer materialism of the modern left, again, who gives a shit about rich dudes and their yachts and mansions and whatnot? My happiness is not predicated on the non-existence of billionaires, why would I let that bring me down? My happiness in my life is for me to carve out and not worry about what rich dudes are up to (provided it isn't ya know, breaking the law or whatever)
Let's be real, the hate of billionaires stems from jealously, it's people who are green with envy and the sour grapes of "if I can't be a billionaire then no one should be!" which is bullshit, money can't buy happiness, don't buy into the idea that happiness means having the yacht, the mansion and the sports cars, elevate yourself above petty materialism.
It's inevitable that there's going to be rich guys out there in an economy that actually functions and doesn't shit itself, the question should be, why do you let that bother you?

I'm not sure if squaw Tweeting Carter will produce enough milk to be deserving of her own thread compared with the thousand other people who make appearances on this one. She's a pasty 1/32 Amerindian, 31/32 European, who's fixated on everything returning to peace pipe and teepee days, and she has typical socjus views about gender. Could be lulzy if she was actually campaigning for something or doing some other IRL shenanigans, but all she does is post on social media and she comes across like she'd probably have a panic attack if she tried to do anything else. The noble savage fantasies and "how do you do, fellow natives?" schtick are funny at the moment, mostly because we know what she actually looks like, but a whole thread dedicated to just her would get old fast. She mostly seems like a dumbass kid who got woke due to corrupting teacher/peer influence and thinks she has all the answers now. It's kind of sad, but she's far from the worst case. At least I don't get the sense she actively wants people in majority groups to suffer, like so many SJW's do.

Up to a certain point money makes you happy. Whatever amount gives you stability and allows you to fulfill all your basic needs (food, housing, healthcare, etc.) plus allows you to pursue activities that bring you joy (hobbies, art, traveling, etc.). But, you don't get happier the more things you can accumulate after that. Plus most humans are actually happier being productive. Turns out that laying around being a lazy fuck is actually not as much fun as you would imagine.

I imagine even with childcare the author is one of those redditors that constantly shrieks about crotch droppings.I decided to look around Slate and I found this article:
"A Day in America without Child Care" or alternatively titled "How I Stopped Worrying and Learned to Hate My Kids"
I'm not saying child care is inherently bad or anything like that, but this articles gave me the impression that the author hates her kids.
