It's more than just the flu when you've got Trump staking his political future on ramming through UBI

Not only is it more than just the flu when Trump, of all people, is handing out huge piles of NEETbux to everyone, it is more than just the flu when, to recap:
This doc right here explains why this virus is not to be messed around with:

People in Hubei get mad and start rioting, after having been treated like fucking cattle. They get so mad at being told they still can't leave Wuhan, they overturn the police vehicles and start beating the cops with their own riot shields.
Rioting and burning police vehicles is what caused the Chinese police to finally disperse the Tienanmen Square NED-led 'color revolution'. Chinamen are prone to behaving in an uncivilized manner. I am sure they will be dealt with appropriately.

Hah. You have no idea how right you are. DC think tanks and NGOs incite fake revolutions all over the place. That's how the Arab Spring got started. What's a Serbian conflict resolution group doing starting riots in MENA so shady globalist cocksuckers can bomb those people, render them homeless, and send thousands of refugees streaming across our borders? Who funds these fuckers? Well, it's groups like the NED.

IRR? Well thats not good. Medics, docs and truck drivers only I wonder?
This is the obligation where folks who signed up for the US Armed Forces under the impression that they were serving their country are subject to arbitary recall up to four years after they exit, right?

Somewhat unwelcome under normal circumstances, but I'm sure many of those subject to it are probably bored and getting angry at the stripper they married right now so it might be a breath of fresh air.

I wouldn't be surprised if the usual suspects are behind spreading this lie for their own reasons.

I had a look to see if French patriotic rappists had covered the coronavirus topic. Clicked on a link to Kroc Blanc's 'Coroned'.

"Biggest infection surge occurs in the weeks of 5/8, 5/15, and 5/22, when 6.4%, 12.8%, and 25.6% of population = 20M, 41M, and 82M get infected. This will result in 1M, 2M, and 4M needing hospitalization starting 5/30, 6/6, and 6/13. As patients need to stay ~3 weeks, 7M will overlap on the week starting 6/13."

Ah.

So... yeah. Not going outside till July. Got it.

Hospitals in New York City are gearing up to use the blood of people who have recovered from COVID-19 as a possible antidote for the disease. Researchers hope that the century-old approach of infusing patients with the antibody-laden blood of those who have survived an infection will help the metropolis — now the US epicentre of the outbreak — to avoid the fate of Italy, where intensive-care units (ICUs) are so crowded that doctors have turned away patients who need ventilators to breathe.

gas_mask_1.jpg

1. Get surplus gas mask, they are obtainable and cheap - old masks are fine but make sure you get a modern filter w/o asbestos.
2. Do not go outside or interact with delivery without your mask.
3. Disinfect or quarantine everything coming into your house/apartment.
4, Do not order takeout food, unless it is something you can leave quarantined on your porch for at least a week.

The morons, who laugh at your gas mask will not be laughing, when they drown from their own blood and pus in their lungs.
EDIT: asbestos comment clarification.

If you disregard China's bullshit lying cunt data, the actual Case Fatality Rate of the currently resolved cases is about 26%, which lines up very well with SARS and MERS. However, there are many undetected, minor or asymptomatic infections, on the order of 90 to 95% (i.e. the actual number of infected globally could be well over 12 million by this point), so the actual Infection Fatality Rate is closer to 1.3% to 2.6%. This means that if 60 to 80% of the globe gets COVID-19, as some estimates have said, you're looking at between 60 to 160 million deaths worldwide if nothing is done to arrest the spread. Over time, it will become endemic and probably mutate into a less lethal form, like a mild cold. However, immunity to betacoronaviruses may not be very long-lasting. 6 months, and your body's immune system forgets how to make antibodies. Regular vaccination or the employment of novel antiviral drugs may become necessary if this becomes a seasonal thing.

Also, expect a huge burden from the roughly three-quarters of survivors out of those known cases who go on to develop chronic illnesses like fatigue, myalgia, lung fibrosis, et cetera. That number could easily be half a billion people.

The course of history has been irrevocably changed by this virus. We're looking at a decade-long depression, economic upheaval, military tensions, supply chain disruptions, layoffs, homelessness, drug abuse, unrest, delays, cost increases on basic products, the list goes on and on.

She's a big old place, The Excel.
Well suited for the task, I'd say, huge amount of open plan space, but with loads of service corridors, toilets, kitchens, meeting rooms and the like.

I find it funny that you brits use this kinda language for buildings too. Which has made me think... maybe this is what differenciate the first world from the third world. No for real. Rant time.

When I was in the scouts, one of the core lessons they gave us is to always leave things better than you found them. Because that area you just visited? You're just visiting, but others will come later, some live in the area, animals live in the area, the ecosystem must be helped, not eroded.

And buildings are the same. On all of the first world nations I always see this feeling. That where you are, where you work, is almost a semi-sacred place. Puerta del Mar ain't just some place, she's Cadiz's biggest and most reliable hospital, many people died there, many people were saved there, many generations to come will depend on her proper functioning. You damn better treat her well. Patient or worker, I don't care, she's bigger and more important than all of us.

And same thing happens with social institutions. People in the west understand that they can't be dicks. Gypsies don't but we all hate them for it.

Meanwhile in the 3rd world, it's a free for all. Buildings are just buildings, no one cares about others, just look at china. Every western country is rushing to turn their exhibition centers into hospitals. But that's because we took care of those centers. They are big, stable, reliable beasts built up to specifications with some god damned care, and if you show them just a little more care they will give back some love. Meanwhile chinese buildings collapse on their own all the time. Because they're not built with care. Look at their 3 day death house. It's already broken. IT WAS BUILT BROKEN. Because the government wanted to use it to make a statement, and now the statement is made it's best people forget it even exists. Meanwhile once this is over IFEMA in madrid and the Excel in england will be there, and if they're called to action they will only require a few more upgrades and maintenance.

Our culture differs in many ways, it's shaped by many things. But, us westerners understand for the most part, society moves forward together. Meanwhile in the third world? The reason they have nothing isn't the west, it isn't geography. It's the fact they break all they get. Because they don't care about anything or anyone other than themselves. Just look at Islam. It's the most egocentric religion in the world, they act as if they're owed the world, they steal all they can and break all they get. Mandate of heaven? Same thing. God chose china, therefore china is owed the world. Catholics are many things but egocentric ain't one of them. The missionaries risked their lifes going to america because they firmly believed in saving the souls of the natives even if it meant giving their own lifes for the cause. They endured great hardship for the sake of others. Meanwhile the closest thing Islam has is suicide bombers who are convinced they'll get personal prices if they kill infidels. The only way Islam spread is by the sword and the only fate for those it conquers is slavery or death.

Do you have a theory on why there hasn't been a vaccine to any coronavirus before this?
Do they mutate more easily than other types or has there never been one bad enough to spend money on research?

China.

No really. Original vaccines for new and sufficiently different viri is not fucking worth it economically, so businesses don't like doing it. I already explained this on many prior posts so I won't go into much detail but point is, governments have these things called public universities and grants. They use this stuff to finance projects like these that aren't fucking worth it economically but protect the population and are therefore worth it socially.

Thing is, chinese universities are glorified diploma mills that steal all they have from other universities and the chinese comunist party acts like q business and therefore has no concept of giving grants to stuff like this.

So the family of chinese coronaviri has been allowed to grow and mutate unchecked. But that's not all. You can actually find ample rants by western researchers after SARS happened because not only did china immediately defund everything as soon as they controled the outbreak, but also they KICKED THEM OUT OF THE COUNTRY. See, Xi loves to act as if he's king of the world, so he will never admit needing the west for anything ever. And so when WESTERN DOCTORS AND SCIENTISTS stopped SARS for him he could not be quicker to burn everything to the ground and bury the evidence. He was warned SARS2 would be the result, he laughed. He ain't laughing anymore.

I get a feeling, if it does come down to that, it won't be the West that will strike down on China, but rather their neighbors, especially the Islamic ones as revenge for the Uighurs.

If you think muslims can do anything productive ever you've not been paying attention. Islam is a red herring.

Here's a weird one:

Google Translate says: "Chinese police posing upstairs as residents, Don't even bother changing uniforms ~ "

Now, I struggle to believe that the police would pose for a publicity stunt like that, and forget to actually dress the part. Surely that isn't what's happening here, right? Have we truly fallen so far into clown world that this video shows exactly what the tweet says it does?

Well those uniforms are clearly cops. Dunno any chinkiwords because there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that'd ever made me step down to learning polution goblin speak.

Kazakh update: And here we go
Cases up to 204. 14 recoveries, no new deaths.
This article says there's 15 recoveries, though.
Some bitch in the Almatynsky district accused two people from two neighboring villages of having the Wu-Tang Flu. She's getting jailed for spreading misinformation.

I think the most important thing to be on top of at the moment are obviously the tests. We need a shitton more of them, and fast. This is easily the area where America was most unprepared. We're definitely doing better this week, but it needs to improve exponentially more. Obviously. At least we're not Spain, with the shitty tests they got from China, thus tragically leaving them back to square one.

Another extremely important thing is the other test, which determines whether a person has antibodies of the Coronavirus. I know it's being worked on, but it's already late at this point, sadly. If we had a test like this yesterday, it would be a ton of help.

Right now, as an American, the biggest priorities are to flatten that curve while not fucking up the economy into oblivion. This is one of those cases where we need to find a way to "have it both ways," as that will most definitely save the most lives (and save the QUALITY of their lives). I think it's bullshit that we can only have one or the other, as both outcomes would end up with mass amounts of people dying.

It's amazing that researchers found that recovered patients developed antibodies for this. This means that a vaccine will be coming eventually (probably by 2021). The sooner we can get that test out and rolling, the better. There's probably a LOT of people who don't know if they were infected in the first place. A huge rollout of the antibody test could help families reunite, and they could put a lot of people back to work.

I'm of the belief that a much, much larger amount of people have been exposed and infected by the virus, but are just not showing any symptoms. If we have a bunch of healthy people who have those antibodies, then that could fix SO many things right now. At the very least, I believe that the country's morale would be a lot more positive.

Anyway. Things are really bad right now. There's no getting around to it. We were all told two-three weeks ago that the worst has yet to come. Depressing, tragic, and scary news, but not surprising to me in the least. I'm not in "We're all doomed" mode at this point in time. I need many more weeks accompanied by devastatingly grim news for me to get there.

Once again, fuck China. I hope the entire nation tears itself apart at this point. If they all kill each other, then nothing of value would be lost. China is an absolute cancer to the entire planet.

We MAY have been at 250K. Or not. If the infection rate is as high as is claimed, then no, lack of quarantine would not have led to 250K hospitalizations, because even in only 30% of the US is currently infected you would have run out of people before hitting 250K hospitalizations.

It's like a commenter here yesterday tried to extrapolate based on 50K hospitalizations per day in new york, and how if that rate continued for a week new york would have X fatalities, without realizing that at the mathematical rate new york would have a 100% infection rate by the end of day 3 based on current hospitalization rates, which are likely weighed in favor of hospitalized people because...say it with me....there is a shortage of testing all over new york.

We know, based on how other coronaviruses and less infectious flu strains spread, that Coronavirus has managed to infect tens of millions to spread as far as it has to so many parts of the US. A mere 90K infections would not be able to touch 90% of US counties with a small handful of infections per area, ESPECIALLY a virus more infectious then the flu. The most conservative math would still show millions infected. The worst case scenario is that we are only seeing 15% of total cases with testing, the likely percentage is below 5%.

Testing stations are widespread and easily available, and yet they have only managed to test 1.35% of their population assuming all their tests would be accurate into the future (EG a person that tests negative in January would not catch the disease in march), assuming they had been testing since late December, assuming they never tested the same person more then once, and assuming 0 false negatives or positives.

AKA a totally unrealistic scenario. We know they are testing medical personnel frequently, as well as first responders, and its likely that active members of society are getting tested several times. And testing has not been going since late december at the current rate either. The likely result is less then 1% of south korea has been tested. A virus could easily avoid testing numbers like that. The US regularly tests over 10% of its population for flus during outbreaks like 2009, and even then there were infections that were missed.

As you said, the proportion of tested citizens is very low, and their testing rate wasnt always this high. The disease could have spread in january/february, and none of those who recovered would test positive today. Testing 1% of the population over 3 months with a test that will only show positive if the virus is still active will not produce an accurate picture.
If you assume that South korea is an accurate representation of case fatality, then simply increase total cases in places like italy until fatality and hospitalization numbers line up. That would give Italy something along the lines of 900K-1M active current infections just to match Koreas numbers. That would be why they are having a massive death toll, the virus is spreading far beyond testing limits. After all, italy has little public testing and even serious cases are being passed up due to limited testing per capita.

Italy has many vectors that would allow corona to run rampant for weeks before detection. It would not surprise me at all if their actual death rate is way lower then current percentages and the majority of cases are never tested.

Another piece of data to chew. Assuming worst case scenario and that we are detecting 15% of total cases, based on current reported case numbers, that would give coronavirus a 0.8% fatality rate, lower then even south korea has managed. If you go with more realistic 10% numbers, that fatality rate drops even lower. Words can barely describe how absolutely blind the world is to current infection numbers, especially given how infectious corona is, and how long it has been spreading. This is why so many experts are now saying 60-70% of their countries have already been exposed, the infectious rate of corona doesnt line up at all with reported case numbers, which leads to only one conclusion: that case numbers are orders of magnitude higher then reported by testing, and since there are not hundreds of thousands of people in hospitals with mysterious pneumonia coughs in every single country, this leads to the logical conclusion that corona is nowhere nearly as deadly as testing would show due to how poorly balanced testing currently is. It would be like if you only tested patients hospitalized for flu to confirm infection then concluded that the flu had a 30% fatality rate.
Coming back to this for a while, you have some good points and I do agree that high dead rates in some countries are because they are getting overwhelmed and cannot keep up with testing, so the actual numbers of infected are much higher than reported. However, your agument against the reliability of South Korean data seems to assume that the relatively small sample of people tested consists of targets either completely random or unlikely to have the virus. But it's the opposite: the people tested are the most likely candidates. Primarily the ones sick enough to be hospitalized, of course, but as I pointed out earlier, many Koreans with even mild symptoms go test themselves because they're worried and remember MERS and testing stations are easily accessible.

So let's assume a major portion of their testing is covered by first responders and double- and triple-testing some of the same suspects. Say, 5000 people a day go test themselves willingly and a small chunk of them tests positive. Now if South Korea follows the usual epidemic procedures, people known to have been in contact with them will be quarantined and required to report any symptoms they develop, so if the virus is so widespread, many of them will have symptoms and will get tested, letting the epidemiological services eventually find and target large infection clusters, like they did with those silly cultists (who still account for half of the total confirmed cases). But this does not seem to happen.

1 million active infections in Italy actually sounds reasonable and the reason for all the horror stories and mass dying in northern Italy is that said million is spread very unevenly, as two thirds of all deaths and known cases in Italy happened in two provinces holding a quarter of the total population. Cutting these two provinces off was somewhat effective in preventing the spread of the virus to other parts of the country, but it was already too late for Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna, so their already underprepared local health systems collapsed under the burden.

The video is from a nightclub in Cameroon and not France (where public entertainment venues had to shut down two weeks ago) but other than that, the information is correct.

Anyway, give or take a few weeks and people like him will be begging for la République to come save them from Corona and [insert something about righting colonial wrongs here]:story:

So, based judges in my state are still throwing out lolsuits from selfish and dumb people one after another. The courts have made it clear that the health of the population is more important than your selfish desire to continue your vacation or have a birthday party.
And if you don't follow the rules the police is gonna knock on your door and politely lecture you on what you can and can not do and it's going to be an expensive lecture. Believe me, people will rat you out. Just happened several times last weekend in my area. The majority of people have absolutely no patience for reckless and anti-social bullshit like that at the moment.

And A levels/ high school exams have been postponed until June 11.

I guarantee you that the fly will not be noticed before it has landed and deposited its Corona-pollen somewhere, potentially important.
I don’t think this will be a major infection route. The risk mainly with flies is them walking /vomiting on food and the bacteria then multiplying in the food.

Do you have a theory on why there hasn't been a vaccine to any coronavirus before this?
Do they mutate more easily than other types or has there never been one bad enough to spend money on research?
The known corona viruses that infect humans are either extremely mild for most, colds and coughs, or SARS and MERS which were very bad. Research into the latter two was stopped by the Chinese as soon as they could. I said at the beginning of this thread that i would bet money that after SARS and mers, labs would be quietly going out and collecting as many wild samples for research as possible and I’ll still bet that a wild caught but used in lab research sample escaping was the cause of this pandemic
For other milder Coronaviruses, there’s no point. You don’t want to vaccinate people against stuff that won’t harm them. The immune system does need stuff to work with or it gets annoyed and attacks the self. The drop in parasitic infections for example in the west is thought to be one reason for an increase in autoimmune disorders. So there’s no real push to develop a cold vaccine because for most it’s a nuisance not a danger. You’ve probably heard of the hygiene hypothesis? It’s certainly not the whole story but being totally unchallenged by germs is not good for you. The best seems to be to vaccinate against the really nasty shit, and let your kids play in the dirt with their pets,

This is my favourite Covid related tweet today.
