One thing that's occurred to me about the US reporting, is that obesity is so common over there that they literally can't see it, and think they're OK. Or at the worst 'carrying a few extra pounds' . Because they are right in the middle of the distribution of people they know.
When they're really about 40 pounds overweight. Even quite young guys in their 20s have this kind of chubby chunky look that they think is all muscle. But it's not.
Just because you don't need the scooters at Walmart doesn't mean you're a sensible weight.
So the reporting, and quotes from family say "perfect health", instead of "OK health (for a fat fucker)"

Please, withhold judgment.
I think you may have wandered onto the wrong website.

Don't judge. People end their lives if they perceive that can not continue living for some reason or another. Brain sees the end, the hand acts based on what the brain dictates.

It is not for us to decide the fate of another, once s/he has determined that their life is over.

Please, withhold judgment.

You're on a site whose purpose is to mock people and you expect them to withhold judgment? Judgment is what this site is for.

Cuomo is threatening to sue Rhode Island for hunting down New Yorkers. This fucking guy.

Are you deliberately being sensationalist or are you genuine, I can't tell.

Every source I can see says the "healthy" nurse had severe asthma.

Heard where ? Source?

Remember, all journalists are lazy lying shit weasels. They've gone from downplaying to stirring up shit. But take everything with a massive pinch of salt .

Having said all that. I'm worried too. My tinfoil hat theory is that there are different strains with different fatalities. And that China spread this shit deliberately once they realised they'd shot themselves in the foot. Take the world down so they didn't lose any relative position.
The Italian experience can be wished away with various cope stories. But Spain?
We'll have to just sit here and wait.

Almost every article I see about young people by MSM dying from Corona features this issues. The title is click-bait to draw you in and make you even more afraid and tacked at the end of the article is the reason they were likely more susceptible. The 51 Year Old man from Ontario, Chronic Leukemia, the young 30-something man who died after leaving Disney had a history of Asthma and Bronchitis, the mother in Washington who survived breast cancer- you're never the same immune wise after cancer.

Even the post about the infant who passed away. Babies can be terribly sick at birth, it's why NICU's exist. Same with young children, it's why there's umpteenth number of children's hospitals. A healthy younger person got sick and died, the family says they were 'healthy' but that doesn't mean they are, you can have underlying conditions and not know it Like that reddit post of a nurse who diagnosed diabetes in a girl he was hooking up with you can be completely unaware of your co-morbidity. An young healthy athlete died? that happens on the field all the time. People who're extremely athletic stretch their bodies to the limit and that can be just as hard on their body/organs.

There will be outliers in every group and there will be actual young, healthy, people who die. At this point however there's a whole lot of conflicting information and many media sites are farming fearmongering for clicks.

A nice confirmation of what you say. (archive)
"80 percent of all Dutch corona patients treated in intensive care are overweight. Diederik Gommers, chairman of the Dutch Association for Intensive Care (NVIC), explains this on Friday Jinek.
According to Gommers and Peter van der Voort, head of intensive care at the UMCG, there is “apparently” a link between the overweight people and their problems with the coronavirus, although this cannot yet be said with certainty."

So much for the "healthy at every size" body positivity movement, I guess.

This is very sad as it's not something you can quickly fix. Losing weight takes time and effort and how overweight are we talking here? Most people who're older will have some extra weight on because they just don't have the youthful stamina anymore. So making the claim if the bulk of the ICU is overweight doesn't hold up as much if they're also elderly with other co-morbities.

52.5% of Neterlands were judged to be overweight in 2008. If that number has only gone up over time, then obviously you're going to see people in the ICU who're overweight because 50% of the population is. The medical concept of 'overweight' is easy to get too even if you aren't what one would call morbidly obese.

The article you linked has this little treasure

So we've been lied too since the beginning and everyone should be wearing masks and respirators because the chances of picking it up from surfaces is small but getting it from aerosol and droplets is significant?

"33 yr old in Perfect Health" as the article stated.

If he's been in a coma for a month and he's still this fat, he was a fucking fat fuck.

I think that’s a pretty disingenuous concern when people on the coasts haven’t been worried about aid to rural communities as industry fled from those communities, leaving them to fend for themselves, and then often the advice is “move to a city where the jobs are” or “learn to code! lol”. Fun, slightly off-topic note on learning to code btw...want to know who’s even harder to find in tech than programmers? People who can speak to both technical and business people and concepts. That’s not as quippy and easy to throw at rural communities as advice though, plus it might actually be helpful.

There’s little concern for rural communities as they’ve been left to rot, while coastal people sit back and laugh and wonder why they don’t just move to the cities and be just like them. Meanwhile, we have Cuomo trying to grab up all the ventilators cause fuck those rural communities who might have fewer systems to support it...remind me how much coastal people care about us in the middle of the country again?

Of course like others have said, it seems clear at this point that only moderate to severe cases are getting recorded. Whatever the reasons why NYC and LA are getting hit harder right now, there are tens of thousands if not millions of cases circulating around the US right now and most of them are not dropping dead or needing hospitalization. Most of the hospitalizations are happening in those coastal cities though not here in the Midwest, so again, maybe worry about that instead of feigning concern about communities that continue to chug along and fend for themselves, even in a crisis, after they’ve been shit on again and again by coastal cities and policies written by politicians from those cities.

Just wait until the Midwest cuts off their food supply due to infection concerns...we can dream right?

You do realize, that your thinking falls into this a largely baseless "good ol boy" vs. "coastal cool" division, correct?

The United States is an incredibly complex country, and its people are incredibly divided, on just about every issue imaginable. A sizeable percentage of what people brazenly consider "Coastal elites" are immigrants who run taco stands and laundromats. On both coasts.

Lest you think that I am some kind of limosene liberal who shuttles between coastal metropolitan areas feigning concern about the "little people" in "flyover states" I will have you know that where I live you would be best off speaking fluent Spanish if you want to hit the local grocery store or see a local doctor.

And they vote. THEY.

So please, I ask, that you kindly put away such ideas that "Coastal people" consider states like Utah and South Dakota and Missouri to be mere "flyover states" and please also consider that the USA has a very large coastline.

The Midwest can not cut off food supply to the coasts, for one, because it will rot in the fields. And you wouldn't get fruit and vegetables.

Peace.

Looks like NY, CT, and NJ have entered in to a suicide pact.
Rhode Island and Massachusetts are laying the foundation to start cracking down on border jumpers.
Hopefully this lays the foundation for the breakup of the US. I am tired of being ruled over by coastal elites in NYC and California. One can hope.

Yes, the original peddler of the half million dead revised his tally twice, down to 20,000, then down to 5000, Competing biologists have also criticized his original study, and calling out the media for hysteria peddling. The question is, why didn't the media and the governments go crazy when SARS hit? There would have been one crazy biologist out there who would probably say millions would die. Why didn't all the media outlets listen to the crazy guy then?
The western government DID kinda lose their shit. The difference was, back then, Chian was willing to take some help from the west, and through combined efforts, SARS was able to be quarantines and snuffed out. SARS also didnt spread so unpredictably or asymptotically like corona does. I was young then, but even I remember the news having "experts" on who were all very nervous when talking about a widespread outbreak. Same with MERS.

I am very deeply aware that my pretty cool job only exists because our base needs are provided by our American heartland, and I try to visit frequently and support local businesses.
Many of my coworkers are afraid that middle America is racist, which to me is bizarre; it’s nowhere near as bad as the rumors in California make it out to be.

In that picture, Herr Schäfer does not look particularly healthy. Maybe it is the black and white picture but something about him looks very off, for a man of 54. He was operating on top of the German social ladder.

Fat in and of itself is not a comorbidity. However when people start really packing on the pounds, from what I've read, you get fat between your organs and around your heart and on your ovaries and all kinds of crazy shit. And if you are really obese, your heart has to work harder to pump your blood. It can interfere with your breathing if your insides and outsides are so fat that you can't completely inhale or exhale. And it becomes painful to move around as you age (just a little bit) so to avoid pain, you become more sedentary and your problems can escalate. Obesity has a common comorbidity: diabetes. Diabetes, if not properly managed, weakens your body on a cellular level. Kidney problems can also follow diabetes.

I am not talking about people who are carrying a few extra pounds. That has its risks, but the real issue is the folks who get into their car, and the vehicle tilts toward the driver's side.
Being extra large also increases demand for O2. The larger you are, the more oxygen your body needs. So when something like Corona comes around that attacks O2 receptacles in the lungs, the larger patients start suffering from a lack of oxygen much sooner, which compromises immune response and increases strain on the heart and increases the risk of stroke/heart attack.

If he's been in a coma for a month and he's still this fat, he was a fucking fat fuck.

Ha I saw this and thought the same thing earlier. Is this authentic though? because as far as I was aware Corona patients weren't allowed visitors because they had a high likelihood of infecting the visitor and the visitor spreading it.

This crisis is giving me a passionate hatred of New York that I don't think will ever recover.

This absolute shitstain Cuomo enacted cuts that caused many hospitals to shut down, and now that there's a crisis he has the fucking gall to try and hoard all of the country's ventilators and encourage his street rat constituents to flee out of the state. Fuck this piece of shit, I hope he dies. New York doesn't give a shit about anyone except itself.

Him and De Blasio. Let him, De Blasio, and all his cronies hang outside the Wall St Stockmarket once this shit blows over. Just like the 1800’s.

Ok, so how do I become a shitlord?

AbsolI used to think it was a toss up between the sandniggers or chinks as to who was the most exceptional but jfc at least the sandniggers don't eat their cats and dogs or endangered critters like pangolins. Chinks, worse than the hajis. Good Lord this is the world we live in.

I would go with the Chinks. Sandniggers know better than to eat carnivores.

Better?

I think you may have wandered onto the wrong website.

Naaa. This website is ok. I like you guys.

I believe everyone is racist to a certain degree. There's many ways to be racist and typically speaking people like to project their own failings on those they dislike. The internet has many examples of this behavior.

From what I've seen, never lived full time on either coast, people everywhere tend to have some kind of group think mentality and the very kind, good natured outliers sprinkled in. They tend to speak with outsiders more than those with bias or if they have that bias they're at least polite enough to not be rude to you.

Just a though.

Cuomo is threatening to sue Rhode Island for hunting down New Yorkers. This fucking guy.
Who cares? nobody will show up in court in NYC for weeks.

those numbers are not as bad as it looks like. the BMI has Problems in Parts of Europe, with height and with bodytype.
I had medical problems some time ago and lost alot of weight and muscle. i looked like a starving person with canceraids while having a BMI of 20.

Meanwhile at the Florida/Alabama border, State Police have set up a checkpoint. It's being repeated at all other border crossings as well. It's starting to happen. Hard State borders.

View attachment 1206769
If theyre only putting police on the borders i guess that means everyone is speeding in the heart of these states. Fucking hell.
