Yeah, funny how when you completely shut something off it stops working, isn't it? I can't wait to read all of your alternate headlines.

"Atomic bomb reveals Hiroshima not as permanent a settlement as once envisioned."

"Shotgun blast exposes hamster as impermanent, corporeal vessel."

"Sustained mortar fire proves that Jerry's pick-up truck was not as 'Built Ford Tough' as previously believed."

"Had Hillary been elected, and everyone was already at home living off government hand outs, we'd have barely noticed this quarantine"

It’s the same type of thing as saying ‘Trump cares more about the economy than peoples lives’. Motherfucker, the two are very closely related. When people can’t make money, the death toll goes up. It’s not an either/or situation.

Honestly I'm surprised that Holt and his site hasn't gotten a thread yet. If people here have enough information, it would be a great idea to make a thread dedicated to Right Wing Watch/Holt/PFAW/etc.

Bad strategy for Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer to attack Trump.

Michigan’s governor is fighting a losing battle with President Trump
By Andrea Widburg
Before President Trump’s State of the Union address in February, most Americans outside of Michigan had never heard of Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. When she gave the Democrat response to Trump’s tour de force, she impinged ever so slightly on the popular consciousness before lapsing back into obscurity.
Now, perhaps because she’s hoping to be the token woman Groping Joe Biden names as his Vice President, Whitmer is back in the media. It’s doubtful, though, that Americans will be impressed with a woman who has such a vendetta against the President that she’s willing to withhold life-saving medicine and to lie.

Ever since Trump stated his hope that hydroxychloroquine (and a similar drug, chloroquine), when prescribed with azithromycin, could treat coronavirus, the Democrat establishment has been hostile to the drug. Although chloroquine is an old and well-known drug, Nevada's governor limited its use to the hospital setting only. Whitmer has gone further than that.
Whitmer’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs informed all Michigan physicians that they could face “professional consequences” for prescribing chloroquine for any off-label purpose, rather than for the FDA-approved purposes of treating malaria and arthritis. It's important to understand that off-label use is a common practice and completely legal. Whitmer, however, went so far as to add a dose of East German spying by telling physicians that they must report to the Department of Licensing any information they have about other physicians using off-label chloroquine prescriptions.

The directive wasn’t limited to physicians. The same official notice informed pharmacists that they cannot fill any off-label prescriptions.
It’s hard to think of a reason other than Trump-hatred for this kind of directive. On the one hand, we have a disease that has stopped the world in its tracks and a known, reputable drug that might treat it. And on the other hand, we have a governor who tells physicians and pharmacists that they could lose their licenses if they give it to patients in need. There’s something very wrong about that.

And besides, Gretchen Whitmer could be nicknamed "Greta Whitmer". :story:

I keep wanting to remind people that you know what is a part of the economy?

FOOD!

How many people you think are going to die if they don't have anything to eat?

Maybe we should compromise with the media and just start calling the virus "the Amish revenge."

I have heard the claim that when the American unemployment rate goes up by 1%, forty thousand people die.

They're back to bashing "Obama's" economy. Seems these people can't make up their minds.

Anecdotally, around here the churches were still open 3-4 weeks ago. 3 weeks ago most of them went to live streaming only, and all of them were doing that as of 2 weeks ago. (There isn't a mandatory closure locally.)

Idiot fedora lords forget that churches are places that keep their congregations safe during catastrophes. The physical structures are large to be literal sanctuaries when needed, they usually have a food bank/pantry to feed people in need, and they have home delivery ministries for the elderly and sick who can't get out to get supplies. These ministries also double as a wellness check for people who would otherwise be isolated and alone. Even the steeples serve a purpose--it lets you visually locate a safe haven from afar, without needing maps, directions, or GPS.

Something fun to watch for on Twitter: how many of the rabid anti-Christian leftists ever talk about helping out their neighbors? How many of them have an actual, physical community they participate in and take care of? (as opposed to the online "community" of people who share an ideology or identity)

The real tragedy of TDS is that infects the RL communal networks that could form and create a stronger people, then tears them apart over something so superficially stupid as Orange Man Bad.

I thought the economy was strong because of Obama, are they saying Black Jesus's miracle economy was actually a lie?

Maybe I’m just a weirdo, but I think that blaming everything on Trump is a terrible idea. It seems to me that pretty much most other people who hold various offices or companies or whatever are just as, if not more, against the interests of most people.
Blaming Trump for everything casts the light away from the other dickheads messing shit up as well. Does this make any sense or at I just slowly becoming a LOLbertarian? Or both?

Trump has said on many occasions that the buck stops with the President.
He did fail to prepare and his speeches during this crisis have been muddled ad-hoc messes. Coronavirus is a disaster for Trump.

However, the Dems dropped the ball by not picking a competent candidate to challenge him. They picked a guy who is borderline senile and has a history of groping asses... and creepily touching children.

Remember Kavanaugh? Remember Grab em by the Pussy? They've hanged themselves.

Trump didn't "fail to prepare" for anything. If I'm remembering that @It's HK-47 post correctly, he made a disease task force back in 2018. His speeches, from what I've seen, have been pretty crisp and clear.
