One of my big hope, especially if the virus fades for the summer completely or till it comes back in fall that US and other countries manufacture a stockpile of medical supplies not only for the next wave of Corona but future outbreaks. One of the optimisms I have like everyone else here that world can not only produce the medical supplies enough for themselves but for future outbreaks when short notice manufacturing can't happen.

Been told to not issue shielding letters now (“they are up on the website”) and instead work on manually coding thousands of patient records to allow data sharing between primary and secondary care. We can’t just automatically turn it on for ALL patients because “we are concerned with data minimisation”. So it has to be done manually for thousands of patients, because the NHS really has a lot of time and resources to waste right now...

NB: if you live with someone who is shielded, you are *not* entitled to be treated by employers etc as if you too are shielded because the guidance says they should be isolated from you inside the house. No shared bedroom, no shared bathroom if at all possible, maintain at least two metres distance at all times. Obviously this is about as practical for most folks as a chocolate teapot but shrug. So, you have to go to work if your employer insists even though you live with someone in the very high risk group. (Don’t start me. I used up my angry bafflement already.)

as some point people will go out again and stop giving a fuck, corona or not. and governments won't willfully crash their economy for yearly flu season. even if they wanted to the population and businesses will just laugh it off. the latter especially couldn't care less since the people affected by corona are not part of the workforce to begin with and business needs to keep going.

As for why there are no videos of overcrowded ICUs in the US flooded with coronavirus patients (another thing the conspiratards jump to the worst conclusions about), I've seen that question asked in this very thread, and since no medifags have answered it yet, I'm going to venture that taking video of patients without their consent (or even knowledge) and posting it online, constitutes a HIPAA violation. Other countries (such as Italy) may not have such strict patient privacy laws, so that's why video has come from there.

what those tards also overlook is that most hospitals by now separate corona patients from the get go (and have for a few weeks) and they usually don't end up in ICU, because non-corona patients don't stop showing up just because there's a pandemic. not sure if icu is even quarantined or if that always separate (probably depends on hospital too).

it's the same shit with MUH TESTING KITS, of course beds will be empty if no one has severe symptions that require hospitalization, they are kept empty on purpose till those cases show up.
