Yeah, and the Spanish flu killed between 18 million to 50 million world wide. The Great Leap Foreword in China killed around 20 million. World War II killed anywhere between 70 million to 85 million. I hate to break it to you, but humanity as a whole has survived much worse, and compared to other countries, the United States is doing well despite a large population size.

I'm not american, but I feel like comparing chinese virus to 9/11 to score some kind of political win is super insensitive to those that suffered because of 9/11. People keep comparing it to things that have no real connection past maybe body count and entirely ignore how the rest isn't comparable. Why don't they compare it to SARS or H1N1? Those seem like more realistic modern comparisons, even the Spanish flu is somewhat a poor comparison due to how far we've advanced since then.

My main point was about the OP making a big deal about Corona deaths compared to 9/11 deaths, when the amount is rather small on a global scale (that isn’t to say it’s any less tragic). Also, the OP leaves out the actions of mayors and governors that have affected the spread as well. He words it as if Trump had sole responsibility for how the virus affects the United States.
