Ever person who enters the State of Texas through roadways from Louisiana, or from any other state as may be proclaimed hereafter, shall be subject to mandatory self-quarantine for a period of 14 days from the time of entry into Texas or the duration of the person’s presence in Texas, whichever is shorter. This order to self-quarantine shall not apply to people traveling in connection with commercial activity, military service, emergency response, health response, or critical-infrastructure functions, as may be determined by the Texas Division of Emergency Management. Each person covered by this order to self-quarantine shall be responsible for all associated costs, including transportation, lodging, food, and medical care.


The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) shall enforce this executive order along the Texas-Louisiana border. Using a form to be prescribed by DPS, each covered person shall designate a quarantine location in Texas, such as a residence or a hotel, and provide a full name, date of birth, home address, telephone number, and driver license or passport information. DPS Troopers, or other approved peace officers, will collect a completed form from a covered person and verify it against the person’s driver license or passport. Providing false information on this form is a criminal offense under Section 37.10 of the Texas Penal Code. Questions about this form should be directed to DPS by calling (800) 525-5555.


A covered person shall proceed directly to the designated quarantine location entered on the DPS form. Any covered person exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 shall be escorted to the designated quarantine location by a DPS Trooper.


A covered person shall remain in the designated quarantine location for a period of 14 days or the duration of the person’s presence in Texas, whichever is shorter, leaving only to seek medical care or to depart from Texas. During that period, a covered person shall not allow visitors into or out of the designated quarantine location, other than a health department employee, physician, or health care provider, and shall not visit any public spaces.


DPS Special Agents will conduct unannounced visits to designated quarantine locations to verify compliance by confirming the physical presence of covered persons. Any failure to comply with this order to self-quarantine shall be a criminal offense punishable by a fine not to exceed $1,000, confinement in jail

As for the media, the recent shenanigans have laid bare some major issues. I think quite a few publications are now shown to be on the wrong side of the foreign agents registration act. Round one will be the expelling of chinese journalists in US companies. Round two if there is a round two will have to be an FBI counter-intelligence purge of US persons failing to register as foreign agents. Dont know if it will come to that, but the money is easy to follow. As are the copy and paste articles translated directly from CCP propaganda mouth pieces.

One other thing that absolutely must be done - no more visas for ANY Chinese students to study in the USA. None. Nil. Zero. Zilch. Eliminates a number of spies. Any students here will have their visas cancelled and will need to leave.

The common agreed theory behind the Spain and Italy numbers are due to lack of testing/ sample size compared to relative population. So the Wu-Flu lingered around probably a lot longer than anyone suspected, so now the spread is too much for anyone to really handle. Kill rate of it is probably anywhere between 0.6%-1% as I initially theorized before. Testing is everything in this regard, now that better testing methods exist, hopefully we can curve things off better and identify the more critical areas. So the whole FUCKING planet doesn't have to stay in lock down, so we can all go back to our jobs and lives.

He still needs to survive November- if Biden gets in, all of this is likely for naught and we go back to an Obama-era status quo. For now, Trump needs to ensure he's perceived as being helpful, that he isn't shouldering all the blame for the initial response, that there aren't that many deaths, and that Democratic governors can't keep their economies shut indefinitely.

Assuming that the economy is restarted in mid May-June, I wonder what actions Trump can undertake to set the groundwork between then and the November election for a long-term divestment and disentanglement from China?

I would imagine that a very flashy & symbolic executive order calling for (not ordering) the repatriation of critical supply chains would be well-received. The public needs to be brought up to speed in understanding that the US and China are already in the early stages of a hybrid war.

Trump can't do this all at once, as he'd be receiving a lot of pushback from liberals (who'll call it racism) and universities (International students are paypiggies for them). It also would be considered collective punishment, as there's still plenty of innocent students that would be caught in this, and it plays into the CCP hands in allowing them to claim protectorship over all Chinese people.

Best is to start vetting more thoroughly and ensuring that Chinese students are not placed in certain sensitive positions. This provides a good start to further tighten the screws later on.

I'm waiting for a court challenge. That's a highly unconstitutional order even during a state of emergency. It doesn't differentiate between infected, non-infected and asymptomatic carriers; in fact, other decrees by states like Florida are also ripe for a challenge. Rhode Island backed off after Cuomo threatened to sue.

There clearly needs to be a policy in place and I don't believe people who may be sick/carriers should travel to other states but until we have a testing system in place this is unlawful.

A lot of people with power and money are also taking advantage of the fear right now for their own purposes to reshuffle the deck. Never forget that.

Exactly. The scariest factor of this pandemic is how contageous the virus is, which is the biggest thing that differentiates this from the flu and/or pneumonia. Most people will basically experience flu-like symptoms if they become infected (and so many others will experience even lighter symptoms or be completely asymptomatic), which doesn't sound nearly as scary as the media makes it out to be.

That said, it's not "just a flu, bro." This is like a flu on steroids, with how ridiculously contageous it is. I imagine if the common flu were this contageous without vaccines available, then we'd be seeing similar numbers to this, I bet. The biggest problem about this virus, bar none, is how flooded hospitals are due to how contageous it is. Lots of people are dying because of the amount of people catching it so fast, thus overwhelming the health care systems around the world. This is much more complicated than "Ooops, I've caught it. Going to drop dead now!"

So yes, this is a dark and scary timeline at the moment ... But there are solutions to getting through this and putting it behind us. It's just going to take time, especially when it comes to the vaccine. Just gotta remain smart, steady, and patient.

"New Cases" is and always has been a worthless number at this point, because it is simply a reflection of increased testing. We don't have a baseline to know how far it is in any given population.So the more testing we do, the more cases we find. as testing capability increases, so does total number of "new cases". A better reflection is the number of positive vs negative cases among those tested. Which has remained surprisingly flat from what I have seen. The positive's don't seem to be gaining on the tested negatives. Looking at that chart deaths is probably also a more accurate reflection of the current curve.

thats why alot of countries report cases look linear instead of geometric. so we dont know the real curve or if we ve flattened it.

Samaritan's Purse asked volunteers to read and adhere to a statement of faith. It's a request, not a demand. Well, in the article and comments that makes it the LGBTBBQ holocaust! The commenters go off the rails comepletely: De Blasio must renounce! Confiscate their equipment! Feed the Christians to the tigers! Better to die from the coof that to live! A few, even some identifying as gay, post that the hysterical virtue signalers should get over themselves because Samaritan's Purse is there to save lives regardless of sexual orientation but they get denounced as fakers and traitors.

This is your typical New York liberal. They'd rather die from bat flu than let a Christian who might have different beliefs save their lives.

At this moment, there are supposedly twice as many people infected in the US than there are in China.

I call bullshit. I don't need to explain the immeasurable amount of health hazards found within China, so how is a country like America, with a first world tier response effort, in a supposedly worse situation?
