I actually always wondered if Ian went after Leafy because he was jealous. If I remember right, she talked about Leafy all the way up until the same year she started dating Ian. Some people on lolcow were curious about this too, so it's not too tinfoily imo. Her dating timeline between Akaadian and Ian as well as thirsting for people like Chin and other creator's during the same period is really fucky and if I recall there are some discrepancies in her story about how long she was "broken up" with her BF, how long she and Ian actually talked before meeting, etc. It' seems to me like she was fishing for a while before she settled on Ian.

Considering too she sicced Ian on Tana Mango out of jealousy or spite, I wouldn't put it past Ian to have been just as petty in his CCing.

The general consensus I think was Ian went after Leafy for making fun of kids/cyberbullying/whatever as well as low quality clickbait content. (There's also the other consensus that Ian went after Leafy for "backstabbing" Keemstar and being a snake which I find it very weird but that's a story for another day)

The Leafy Content Cop was however generally considered to be not quite well done compared with the previous Content Cops, (Leafy still fucked up in the response anyway and doesn't help he got some sperg working on a script for him), so the reason for that being Ian going after Leafy for jealousy might be possible.
