I'll admit that I'm not particularly aware of the ins and outs of Onision lore, but what I've seen of it reminds me a lot of the drama that's been surrounding Dick as of late. It's sporadic leaks and vague accusations about horrific domestic abuse being jumped on by equally crazy people. The big difference is that Dick is funny and charismatic enough to sidestep it, whereas Greg is a shithead who is terminally incapable of being sympathetic and can't stop himself from being a sped.

The handful of times Dick has talked about the Onision stuff on Twitter has been very supportive for two reasons:
1. Dick knows he's a stones throw away from being in the same hot seat
2. Dick was desperately trying to get Onision on NewProject 2

Again, I'm not exactly up on Onision; I'll try to pound through the thread before the show but as of now I'd imagine Ralph and Dick are going to play softball. It's entirely possible that they'll go in hard and make a real shitshow of it, but Ralph is generally pretty generous when it comes to guests he thinks will draw views.

I don't think it's fair to compare them. I know you said you don't know much about what's going on with Onision so I'm not like flipping out at you over it or anything lol. There's also tangible proof of Onision being a piece of shit rather than just he said she said. Dick's drama at least doesn't involve multiple underage girls. Or him filming schizophrenic meltdowns (like Shmorky!) for YouTube to "prove" the other person was the piece of shit and not him. I won't get too deep into it since you're skimming the thread. Just wanted to point that out.

The reason why Bouldergate worked so well was because mundane matt was lulled into a false sense of security on the stream, only to have Zidan ask him to share his flagging history.
Another example was a killstream when Brittany Venti was on, where she was shitting on her ex, the hosts and chat, when she was asked by Zidan why she was such a gross slob that couldn't clean up after herself, Venti got so asshurt that she has since then never returned to the show

This Onision stream gets very entertaining at points later on. I thought people who hate each other yelling and calling each other pedos is what the Killstream is supposed to be about?

Spoiler: Quick rundown

At the start, Onision begins by refusing to answer the softest of softballs "give us your side of the story" and instead wants to find out what Ralph knows about the situation. Doesn't really scream "did nothing wrong". Ralph gives generic answers and is polite about it, careful to say that it's all allegations. Onision calls Ralph's assessment vague and then goes on to say he wants to connect with Ralph as a person before they talk about his drama. So Onision is trying to groom Ralph. (A bit later Dick jokes that he feels that he's being groomed by Onision.)

Onision's defence boils down to "I didn't do anything illegal". The Anti-O people disagree.

Dick's game plan looks to have been trying to get Onision to laugh along with various degrees of creepy, which he basically admits at the end. It starts out tame "treat em like dirt, they stick to you like mud, huh?" but is soon "she was obviously planning that kiss before she was 18 though, right?", "[woman being uncomfortable] can be hot sometimes, though?", "you're not attracted to seventeen year olds? Come on". Novel strategy, but Onision keeps his guard up and refuses to play along.

Dick later says we're all collectively worried that Onision is perpetuating a cycle of abuse because he himself was abused. Keemstar then comes in and says that victims of abuse have high pitched whiny voices for some reason. Onision never took his guard down though so basically just bats this away every time Dick comes back to it.

Apparently Onision was prepared to have a talk with Chris Hansen, but Hansen refused to do it live. Onision may be a degenerate groomer who has a crush on Leafy, but at least he's prepared to face the questions from the gunt crew and even random callers, some of which obviously hate him and were up to speed on his drama.
