🐱 MyPillow CEO Preaches Christian Lies During Trump’s Useless Pandemic Briefing

CatParty

No TV network should be airing Donald Trump‘s daily rallies. They’re not informative, and they’ve become a substitute for his campaign rallies, where he mocks the press for quoting him directly, stirs up resentment toward his perceived enemies, and throws out slurs against groups he doesn’t like. Every network can easily air clips afterwards, fact-check them as they do it, and offer the full video online for anyone who wants to watch it. It would be a better public service if they did that.

Today’s episode was a perfect example of why.

Rather than offer useful information, Trump ceded time to Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow and a low-level hero among MAGA cultists, who used the opportunity to praise Jesus during the “briefing” with the presidential seal right below him on the podium.

“God gave us grace on Nov. 8, 2016, to change the course we were on,” Lindell said, referencing the day of Trump’s election. “God had been taken out of our schools and lives, a nation had turned its back on god. I encourage you to use this time at home to get back in the word, read our Bibles and spend time with our families.”

Lindell, standing behind a podium bearing the presidential seal, said Trump “gave us so much hope” and cited the strong economy that has since cratered due to the virus.

“With our great president, vice president, and this administration and all the great people in this country praying daily, we will get through this and get back to a place that’s stronger and safer than ever,” he said.

We know Trump lies. But now he’s bringing in people to lie for him.

Lindell is wrong. God was never “taken out” of school because students are welcome to pray or read their bibles. Forced Christian prayers are no longer acceptable — as it should be. (Trump hasn’t changed that, either.)

The nation hasn’t “turned its back on God,” since the majority of people are still religious. They’re just starting to recognize that white evangelical Christianity has become a cover for a political party that cares more about power than Jesus. If anything, Trump has only made that distinction more clear.

And the idea that this administration, which dragged its feet in responding to COVID-19 while refusing to provide complete aid to states if their governors don’t show sufficient obsequiousness, is going to make us stronger has been disproven more times that we should have to count.

It is appalling that anyone, much less a president, would waste the nation’s time by allowing a pandemic briefing to turn into a church service. It’s even more disturbing how few people care. Then again, given all the ways this administration tramples over the Constitution, you can hardly blame the media for not sufficiently covering them all.

What did he mean by this
farm equipment.jpg

Also words to avoid a ban.

Maybe if he didn't come off as buying his way to the platform to spout off about his religious beliefs in a somewhat toxic manner? It's like virtue signaling with extra steps. "Notice me senpai Trump, I'm making masks!" turned into "Hail God's chosen, President Trump! We should instill more Christian values into all things!" way too quickly here.
maybe if you didint come off as a total fuckface you people would like you.

What have you done to help fight against coronachan? fuck all. thats what. this dude is a millions times more important than you ever will be.

>tfw I live in a country that regularly says Jesus' name in political speeches
Wow first world atheists are such little babies. Also "thoughts and prayers" may be useless but it's just a Christian version for "I hope you'll be well" and such, why are atheists (and some people here) triggered by such harmless words?

either way great article I r8 gr8 b8/8

Reading the replies in this thread reminds me why Articles threads should be able to have a Plagued tag. Jesus Christ, all the militant atheists polluting the thread.
There's literally only two people fedoraposting in this thread, and those are Gramh and big ups liquid richard.

All of these people insisting that this virtue-signalling but otherwise harmless crack addict turned pillow merchant turned mask vendor is a dick are just reminding me of me.

When I was 14 and thought I had figured out the Universe.

Well guess what. I was fucking stupid back then and didn't know shit.

Well I guess if a good act erases your culpability for your actions outside of that instance, Null better pull the plug on the site, no lolcows to be seen here just a bunch of misunderstood genuinely good people who shouldn't be mocked for looked down on for moments of indiscretions. It was a good run.

So because he was a crack addict he's completely worthless and only deserves hatred and mocking? Or does he only deserve that because he became a Christian and turned his life around?

If he'd gone from a born again Christian owning a business employing 1500 people to a useless crack addict he'd probably have a thread here. If you think the opposite will bring the funny, make a fucking thread.

Gramh. Listen to me for a minute, because right now, you are on the fast track to getting Halal'd, doxed, and quite possibly murdered by Deagle Nation.

Calm the fuck down, and get off of A&N. You've got some good posts in the Beauty Parlor, hang out there and poz your neghole.

First, that wasn't even the intent of my statement. Sure, this guy's being a cocksucker and putting "muh Jeebus" where it shouldn't be, but guess what? On the scale of all the ideologies to rail against, from violent extremist Islam to screeching entitled third wave dangerhairs bashing with bikelocks, to commies, to unironic Nazis, to anarcho-primitivist objectivist scum who need to be shot in the balls, etc... this guy's a fucking lame duck. A guy using the Church and his deeds to market his brand in the pandemic.

He's a douchebag, a wretch, a common beggar hiding his peddling as prayer, etc. But you know what? Look at the assholes we've categorized on this site. Unrepentant criminals. Genuine sociopaths. People who have directly caused deaths and thousands in property damage. And ask yourself, Gramh, is some fucking smug pillow merchant worth getting your fedora in a twist over?

:neckbeard: < This can be you if you're not careful. Start breathing and mocking the fuck out of people who deserve the criticism.

i get the hate, he should be a closet pedo or something. not a geniunely nice guy who made something of himself after a life of drugs.

This guy sounds like every psychologists, social worker's worst nightmare. the one who changed his life around.
I'm willing to bet the motherfucker's another John Wayne Gacy and has dead kids turned into pillows and shit/

I'm quoting you to make sure you know I'm talking to you specifically. I get that of all the world's evils and all the world's lulziest cows he's small potatoes. If we want to play the what is worse game, pick a third world country or go for the low hanging fruit of Africa the continent nobody wants to acknowledge exists.

I don't see why I have to bear an atheist badge for thinking a man, who decided to make cheap cotton masks that aren't in dangerously low supply, used his accolades from the President during a time in which the economy is faltering and we have an uncertain viral disaster at our doorstep, to do something unprofessional and very lulzy for what should have been a canned "Thankyou Mr President, I hope that my efforts will blah blah blah" response turned into a short rant about a complete nonissue with the context that the President was the solution. I don't care if he was up there spouting off Democratic/Libertarian/Communist/Hindu/Wiccan ect. rhetoric, it's funny and cringey to me that with the nation watching during an excruciatingly uncertain future that is what he went with. When I see it, I imagine someone like Chris-Chan standing up there preaching about the dimensional merge.

The second half of the recorded speech, fine sure hopes and prayers and family and Jesus in this tough time cool that's awesome not my gig but if it makes you feel better.

President Trump can honor who he likes, and that person can say what they want. Defending them on the basis that they are contributing to a community though? I can name half a dozen lolcows that have actively benefited their community, and turned around and did something cringey.

This article though, it wasn't about the worst of the worst, so pontificating on a point that isn't being made doesn't do any good. This is about a man who doofed up, good intentions or no. That's what I comment on, that's how I see it. The hypocrisy of grandstanding for this person because of their one good deed when this white knighting isn't commonly applied to others is what popped me in here for as long as I've been. Nobody cares about my take, great why engage with me then?

Atheists can get fucked. You're entitled to be an atheist, you're not entitled to be shielded from any displays of public religiosity at all. Some people are Christian and can voice their beliefs publicly. This kind of "hyper secularism" where religious people are expected to keep their religious beliefs entirely separate and hidden from their public life is retarded.

Atheists whine about how they're one of the most despised demographics in America and then shit their pants and put out this kind of tripe when some religious guy who is doing a public service dares mention the name Jesus in a public address.

Please let this fucking happen. The more people who sperg out and think the internets owe them something or their opinion is better than everyone elses deserves the wroth and shame that a solid doxing by Victor Von Deagle would bestow upon them.

Also jesus loves all of you regardless if you hate his guts, make some more masks and buy another fucking pillow. My 401k needs your...attention.

Not N95. Shitty cotton masks useful for anything but COVID. They‘re doing the same thing in Spain, and it's worthless. Making cotton masks is just feel-good propaganda.
You can't say that, when you don't know what kind of masks they're producing. Are they producing simple face masks or surgical face masks? Because that's already a major difference.
A cotton mask as you claim, could easily be a surgical mask, which are also made out of cotton and look similar to simple non-surgical face masks.
I'm sure you have no information which standard this masks have, so all you do is just spouting uninformed bullshit.
Surgical masks and N-95's are both tested for fluid resistance, filtration efficiency (particulate filtration efficiency and bacterial filtration efficiency), flammability and biocompatibility.

Important edit: Important to know is also the fact that not every N-95 respirator is classified as a Surgical N-95 respirator.
Example the N-95 you can buy at Home-Depot are manufactured for use in construction and other industrial type jobs that expose workers to dust and small particles. They are regulated by the National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL) in the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), which is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). But they are not Class II medical devices.

Medical N-95 surgical respirators are intended for use in a health care setting. Specifically, single-use, disposable respiratory protective devices.
These devices are class II devices regulated by the FDA, under 21 CFR 878.4040, and CDC NIOSH under 42 CFR Part 84., which those who are used for everything outside a medical use are not. You have to look at the package it it has this code on it: Class II device by the FDA, 21 CFR 878.4040 / CDC NIOSH under 42 CFR Part 84.
If they're not marked with that they're just worthless against the coof but still better than nothing..

TL;DR: Even if is is just a simple cotton mask it's still better than nothing.
