That is not in the Bible. In fact taking a vow of poverty is much more in line with Christ's teachings. This isn't something that we want to hear. But it IS in the Gospels, like it or not.

If wealth is our reward for being faithful, how do you explain millionair Arabs, Hindus, Jews and Atheists?

Anyway this is OT. And the only reason for entering these types of discussions, is to illustrate how dangerous these belief systems are. Bad for your health and misleading.

Confirmed cases. The post I was quoting trying to imply that the increase of confirmed cases is equal to the number of people catching the disease. Trying to imply that we are on the same path as Italy. Nobody wants to list the number of tests administered, but we know last week US overtook any other country in the world for tests conducted. The sharp growth of confirmed cases is indicative of how many test we're preforming, not how rapidly people are getting infected.

We increased the number of testing sites in my county without actually increasing ability to run more tests. All those nasal swabs just sit in a lab forever.

My son got tested this morning and we got the results back in about 10 hours. It was the nasopharynx test, so I don't know what test they're doing near you, but I was impressed with the speed.

How is Germany's death to confirmed cases ratio so low compared to other European countries?

Yes, however, the idea of earthly prosperity being a sign of divine favor is a perverse form of Calvinism, which is pretty perverse to begin with. (Actually, it's a much older pagan concept, but nevermind.) The idea being that if you're one of the predestined, you'll be blessed in earthly life. If you're poor and sick... well, watch out, you might actually be going to hell.

This is, of course, total crap. Job is quite possibly the oldest book of the Bible and is all about how you can't draw a direct arrow between sin and suffering. Bad things happen to good people, and vice versa.

EDIT: Actually, let me rephrase that just slightly. The message of Job isn't "bad thing happen to good people", although that's true as well. The message is "don't follow God just because you think he's gonna give you fat stacks in return". Which strikes against the prosperity gospel even harder.
