Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Can we do a poll on what Disney will have to recovery from the pandemic? There’s a lot of assets I think they have to sell thanks to the pandemic.

I legit stand by my interpretation that they will sell Star Wars, probably for pennies on the dollar, for a quick few million just to rid themselves of that franchise now that it's been tainted beyond salvation (because as good as Mando S1 is, that show will not save the Disney continuity). Galaxy's Edge will be shuttered or might not even reopen when the parks eventually do, undergoing a complete retheme to something else in order to salvage that money pit - but there's no way something like Rise is going to reopen when it's still a technical fucking nightmare (whereas in the week it was open, Runaway Railway completely shat all over Rise by being a perfectly functional trackless ride system with far more impressive effects.)

I agree with everything you are saying. just think of it though, disney purchased the most beautiful and desirable and expensive lady of the night (star wars), abused her physically and mentally all the while raping her to being near if not at death (all the while allowing their demented friends to do to her what they want) and will now sell her remains off for pennies on the dollar and just maybe simply throw the body into the street. This analogy is in jest but what they did is pure evil. What is happening to them now financially may just be the universe itself saying "enough"!

so who the fuck is this guy who died? looks like shit I've never seen so I assume he's from a worthless Disney Star Wars so fuck him lol

Probably not due to the main factor of Disney+ Existing, they need Mandogunmanadventures to keep that thing afloat.

I mean, people were bragging that they dumped Disney+ the second the season ended.

I just want to take a moment and share the horror of who Thrawn has to share the product page with.

No word on if you can get giant space whales to tentacle rape him.

And just to show you how long Fantasy Flight has held a license for Star Wars games...

BOTH of these cards are in the Star Wars LCG.

Did you ever think you'd see the day where in a game you can have the old EU fight the new EU?

I just found that funny. (I might also be going a bit crazy being shut up so long.)

Not so much evil (well, except maybe KK, she basically tried to turn the franchise into her own version of fucking Twilight, except instead of Sparkly Vampire boy you have angsty balls-haven't-dropped-yet Kylo Ren) as ignorance.

They essentially seemed to be set up to rehash Episodes 4-6 with TFA...and then that fucker Rian Johnson somehow was brought in and really, he was just the catalyst for all the shit falling down because he even admitted he gave no fucks about Star Wars as a franchise, he only saw what he had to work with from the previous film and did whatever, not caring about the follow up film because that wasn't his problem.

The fact that the follow up to that literally resulted in throwing nostalgia thing after nostalgia thing, up to and including fucking Palpatine existing out of the blue with no clear reason in-universe for doing so, shows they had lost all control and were hopelessly spiraling trying to get back the lost fans...and instead simply lost even more in the process.

And Galaxy's Edge showed its true colors the moment they decided to open without its "main attraction" - which I assure you, was NEVER the main attraction. No, that was the fucking overpriced bullshit they shoved into the center, because for all that was cut during development, the ONLY thing that got nixed that would have been taking more money out of guest's pockets was the elaborate seated diner experience. Talking from my last experience at Disneyland, but I thought it rather weird that Galaxy's Edge even existed, when at the time (last September), Tomorrowland not only felt MORE like a sci-fi place, but also literally had more Star Wars themed rides then the actual Star Wars land. The dumb Hyperspace Mountain overlay was still up (wasn't as good as the normal Space Mountain), Star Tours is obvious, and the Launch Bay thing where carousel/innovations used to be. The only non-Star Wars thing was Buzz freakin Lightyear. Like, if they needed space so damn badly for a Star Wars ride, why not just demolish the Carousel/Innoventions building? Its just nothing but a prop museum and character meet and greet these days! And a single ride would have been far less costly in comparison to a whole land that was built around an outdoor strip mall and not invited the problem of still having Star Tours in a position where it can't exist in Galaxy's Edge.

And then there was all the assumption that GE was going to bring in an insane number of guests to be milked, hence the Rivera hotel and the unneeded skyliner system while the actually still popular Monorails are ten years past their expiration date and despite Bob Gurr's words on the subject some time back, obviously are not high on Disney's priority list to fix despite being one of the most iconic aspects of Disney parks. And then the Skyliner had two high profile accidents which just was delicous to see how rushed things were only to backfire spectacuarly.

Oh, and the Hotel. Did anybody think for a second this was a good, remotely viable idea?

It was overall the culmination of my main issue with Disney under Iger, which was that he could do nothing but slap IP onto anything and everything - and to him, Star Wars was a brand to be abused to hell and back. Because with Star Wars, they just butchered the existing lore, whereas with the MCU they simply modernized plots that worked in the past, giving them a new coat of paint but the stories were still solid (relatively).

Probably not due to the main factor of Disney+ Existing, they need Mandogunmanadventures to keep that thing afloat.

Whatever deal gets worked out will involve them keeping Mando, literally the only thing of value (until S2 comes along and fucks everything up because it's turning into a mini-RoS nostalgia bomb already), much like how Star Wars has always had a presence in Disney ever since Star Tours (which if there was a merciful higher power would get turned back into the original Star Tours but with all the benefits of the 'prequel' revamp like multiple ride narratives and more creative motion simulator application).

But so long as Disney has control over the writing, they have GOT to know nobody trusts them anymore.

Thrawn is not even in the same ballpark as Hondo. Thanks Now I hate Hondo.

You know how Di$ney made the Expanded Universe into "Legends?" What if someone else got the rights to Star Wars, restored the "Expanded Universe," and made the Di$ney-made stuff "Legends?"
I see George doing this. He buys all of it back, including all of the Disney stuff. With the exception of Mandalorian, the Disney timeline will be referred to as the What If Universe and the sequel trilogy as the what If Trilogy.

God I hope that happens. :optimistic:

They haven’t “re-canonized” anything about the “True Mandalorians” in the DU, so all of that falls under the old EU. Don’t worry, eventually they’ll have some YA author formally buttfuck that piece of EU trivia.
Pretty much this, but the True Mandalorians are a part of Disney canon now via Galaxy's Edge info as I've listed before, but they just say they're a "splinter group" and nothing else. I expect the buttfucking to show up soon though once they go into more detail about them.

So with all this time indoors, I managed to get into the first book of the next part in my EU traversal, Dark Nest. I was expecting something terrible, but it actually isn't bad...it's fucking weird, but not bad. That last scene where Mara and Luke reduce the Dark Nest into literal insect gore was unexpectedly satisfying, though. My only real complaint is that the OT Heroes seem to be overshadowing the next generation of Jedi characters in terms of narrative focus...something that I feel NJO manage to balance a little more.

Thing is, all the retrospective reviews I see everywhere for this book online lambast it for some scene in which there's some kind of Human-On-Bug Orgy. Now, I've just finished The Joiner King, which is the book where this supposedly happens, but I didn't encounter it anywhere. Did I fucking miss something? What is everyone talking about? The closest thing to that is when Zekk wakes up next to Jaina after another one of those Killik Ritual Dances (again, fucking weird, but not lewd or ever implied to be lewd), and Jaina essentially confirms to both Zekk or the audience that nothing happened between them. So what fucking orgy is everyone going on about?

Also, Troy Denning really likes sexing up this Alema chick of his. Not that I'm complaining...Denning clearly knows my interests well: sexy Twi'leks in skin-tight flight suits that, in the character's own words, are on the verge of tearing if they so much as bend over.
