I'm also an introvert, and I must say that shelter-in-place order is basically normalizing my optimal way of life. If only the deliveries worked as they used to do, and I didn't have to worry about availability of certain things, and of course all the economy going to shit, I wouldn't mind it at all.

I am partially relieved because my interactions with people outside of my nearest circle got reduced to absolute minimum. However, I am aware that we are heading into a deep economic depression for who knows how long, and this of course is more stressful than the simplified life.

I decided to not get the masks. The amount of work to properly sanitize on a constant basis is something I am too lazy to do; so the masks didn't seem like a good buy.

There is a very easy way to de-corona them.
Its called TIME.

From what I have read the virus only lives for 72 hours at most on surfaces like cardboard if left in a dry area.
So if you only had 7 masks then you only use 1 a day on rotation. By the time you come back around on the rotation the 1st mask should be clean.
If you only have 1 mask then save that for risky times like the once a week supermarket trip.

This is what I've been doing. I number them so I know what order I wore them in, and place them in the window of the sunporch in the hopes the UV will help.

It's not perfect, but it's the best I've got. With my work schedule they get about 8 days between uses. I still try to be careful to never touch the outside.

The 17 days is more likely to refer to them finding bits of the virus still in the cruise ship, not necessarily that it's still alive and infectious. Spread by talking hasn't been proven or studied yet from what I've seen. The first article I've seen mentioning that might be what's happening was today. However given how quickly it spread and how asymptomatic people are spreading it, you should assume that's what is happening.

If you're going out anywhere that other people have been or are going to be when you return home everything you're wearing should be immediately washed, including yourself, and if you're using cloth masks, those as well.

If you don't know whether you've been infected or not, then isn't it best to cover your mouth with something when you're out in public to prevent the spread of it? Sounds pretty effective as preventative measures to me! Lots of people are carrying the virus without the knowledge that they've come into contact with someone who has it. Just making the default "wear some kind of mask when you're out of the house" seems to be a smart thing to do.

that's what the social distancing part is for already, droplets not reaching you. wearing a mask just decreases the spread, but still requires people to comply otherwise. and that's of course if they wear the mask properly to begin with, every time they show people wearing masks every 2nd-3rd guy leaves his nose open, touches the mask etc.

don't get me wrong, in an ideal word were people aren't stupid it would make sense, but then we probably wouldn't be in this mess to begin with. so even if you force everyone to wear a mask, it's debatable how effective it is on top all the measures that are already in place - and that's ignoring all the costs, who's gonna pay for all those masks, people already don't have any money. and where are they supposed to get those masks, public mask dispenser handing them out in line so you can get sneezed on instead of sitting "safely" at home, while everything else is redirected to medical personnel?

use a personal respirator if you can't stay away from people that could possibly coof on you, and it doesn't really matter if the wear a mask or not. if you can't you have to pray they know wear them and behave accordingly, and good luck with that.

people tend to spit while talking, some more some less. but it's usually only a very short distance, or at least shorter than your average sneeze/cough. so in theory you can get infected by talking, but most people don't whisper stuff into people's eyeballs.

So you are showered, before you enter the house. It also can serve against any chemical burns that you might incur while gardening, once the COVID epidemic is over.
