I don't think the convention itself would be cancelled yet either way. I think they will do everything in their power not to cancel their big party and infomercial.

Scott Adams suggested that they might be using something like Live2D (well, he doesn't know the tech, but that's the kinda thing they'd be using) to have someone else "be" Biden when he doesn't have to be in person...

I don't believe so, but at the same time hearing his own campaign say that Joe Biden is a team effort is serious lols.

He's only as far behind as Obama was when Obama came from behind and beat the shit out of Hillary, isn't he?

If Bernie survives to the convention then there's a chance that a brokered convention will realize that Biden isn't going to make it to November and switch to him. That's why. If he drops out the DNC can do all kinds of fuckery up to and including just swapping Biden out for Cuomo or something. Plus, he has to find a way to get his base not to go fucking insane. They were literally talking amongst themselves about rioting and assaulting DNC staffers if they feel Bernie was "robbed."

I wouldn't put it past Bernie staying in until Milwaukee and trying to push for a brokered convention as some sort of Hail Mary pass.

Problem is that the DNC will never let him be the nominee even if they do go for a brokered convention. They might go for a brokered convention if Biden's too far gone, and then just pick someone like Hillary, Cuomo, or Stacey Abrams, assuming they don't just save everyone the headache of a brokered convention and make them Biden's VP pick and have them be the DNC's presidential candidate by proxy.

Bernie's base will go insane no matter what, but as Super Tuesday proved, a lot of them are all bark and no bite. And if they do try to riot and assault DNC staffers, the Milwaukee Police Department plus any other security the DNC has will come down hard on the Bernie rioters.

Most of Bernie's army couldn't even get off their ass go out and vote for him on his big day, and that was before there were any COVID-19 lockdowns or delays. If they do pull a fast one and actually decide to get off their ass and violently riot, they won't have the force of strength to succeed and the reprisals from law enforcement and the DNC will be brutal as fuck.

The only reason I want Bernie to stay in is that like Trump, his continued presence both infuriates and exposes what the DNC is up to.

Also, the longer he stays in, the less time his supporters have to go through the five stages of grief and rationalize their vote for Biden; and the less time the DNC can start really focusing their message around Biden.
