In his newest endeavour for clout he's trying to suck up to @Spectre_06 and Nick.

I did consider that one, but law firms usually use their surnames in the name, not their forenames. Of course, this is assuming that his first name really is Martin, or that it's even part of his name at all.

It's may be a portmanteau of Martin Silenus and Bettik, from Hyperion, which he appears to like.

I'm still inclined to think that if he's anyone, he's purselley.
