Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Bettik is a POS.
He compares Vic to a man who led a pedo ring on a private island and was a child rapist.
Bettik, I know you read this thread. I'm not sure if you are just one person or someone shares your account, but your vitriol and volatile ramblings show what kind of scum you are. Get bent, you moron(s).
Don't be mad at him, you should laugh about it because it shows how limited their intellect, deduction and investigation skills are.
There's nothing to be mad about that.

I found the source of the Vic Locks story before they ever tried to put it in the filings. The original story of the crazy person who stormed Funimation raving about how he'd become the next Vic Mignogna (thus creating the locks) is still on the internet. Not just Marchi's retelling of it.

You mean Emerick Plank?

You can't just do this to me. Too many nobodies have similar names on KV

The dude is such a nobody that his name is so elusive. I think his name is Alvin Spork. Ah fuck it, I'll just call him The Who Guy. 😂

I hope they ignore these... things that were never going to watch the show anyway.

I had heard about Fantasy Soft and that Vic had a production still lined with them, didn't know it was a Christian themed Furry anime... Still sounds kinda cool, Christian themed stories can be hit or miss, Prince of Egypt was a fucking masterpiece, and furry anime can be awesome, Beastars as a recent example.

Still kinda funny that they complain so much about a show that really doesn't seem like it would be catered to them, from the trailers this looks like a Thundercats/Avatar the last Airbender styled show.

"We're not interfering and doing damage!" They shout, as they constantly attack the only studio openly supporting Vic, and try to intimidate them into breaking off their association with him - going so far as to get sponsors to retract their sponsorships with said studio

"Why doesn't ANYONE support him?" They ask, ignoring Fantasy Soft having openly supported Vic from the very beginning, and having issued multiple statements on it. But also constantly attacking and harassing Fantasy Soft to punish it for doing so.

Eh FSE just voiced support with Vic to draw in eyes. Literally nothing has come from it. What FSE says about supporting Vic is no different than any of us saying we support Vic.
What makes it sound appealing is the idea that FSE is a company. I don't think it operates like one.

Companies crapping on Vic did it to play to the crowd and didn't act like company either. (Funi vs. RT). So... a company being a company. Not sure it doesn't offer indirect value. For example, showing a company can survive after publicly supporting Vic. Or, on the most cynical level, show nothing special about a company's opinion of a person.

I must heartily disagree. A random person on twitter tweeting #istandwithvic and saying "Vic man good!" does nothing of any meaning. Vic doesn't even see it, because he's been avoiding twitter since KV started (unless he's started looking again, but he's probably not looking there if so). FSE vocally supported Vic unambiguously while Funimation and Rooster Teeth cut ties and the absolute height of defamation and TI was happening, much like Anime Matsuri did. More importantly, FSE gives Vic acting credits and work references and pays him money for his role. The closest any random #ISWV person is doing is donating to his legal fees, which is great and all, but doesn't help the hole in his resume, and he can't spend on anything else.

FSE's support may not be selfless, but it doesn't make it useless. They could easily have jumped on the bandwagon with Funimation and Rooster Teeth and thrown him out, but they didn't and they haven't, and they've aggressively vocally supported him even in the face of retribution like losing sponsors. And at the end of the day, regardless of how the court case ends (short of it being an overwhelming, crushing success for Vic), Vic having a company he can point to and say "Those people didn't fire me, ask them how my conduct was as their contractor/employee" when auditioning for a role in a neutral company is pretty important. The more of those he can point to, the better. Especially if the worst happens and he can't slap down a piece of paper that says "no, look, Funimation lied and conspired and I proved it"
