I mean, they've successfully infiltrated M:tg, comics, videogames,, TTG, and CrunchyRoll now has the direct ear of anime/manga studios in Japan, so your optimism, while charming, doesn't align well with reality.
True, it is pretty bleak and if it weren't for COVID-19 wrecking everyone's shit, I think it would be a complete game over.
But now I think this is a "darkness just before the dawn" scenario, especially since everyone else is sick to death of woke shit because now there's real problems going on and these companies who keep going woke and antagonizing their own customers no longer have the Chinese to rely on or are in niche industries that will be hit harder by this pandemic anyway.
Before, the "normies" and casual fans could just ignore woke shit and just not buy it, but now we're due for a massive backlash and culture shift.
The failure to cancel Joker and said film being a huge success also provide a very good counter example to woke culture in addition to "Get Woke, Go Broke" and I think the studios will end up being forced to gradually make concessions now that the situation is drastically changing.
The one thing I do worry about is CR getting a hold onto anime and manga studios in Japan and I think that one was probably done because anime has held out the hardest against woke culture and SJW's have always had a huge hate boner for anime.
But at the same time, I think we may luck out and have Crunchyroll's in with the anime studios end up being a Pyrrhic Victory.
The Japanese studios will see the backlash their exported dubs will get and I also wouldn't be surprised if there's some backlash from the main audience in Japan if the censorship carries over into the Blu-Ray releases as well. If the culture shifts, who knows how long CR's partnership with the anime and manga studios will actually last?
I know it's easy to go all doomer and think this will last forever, but we're in the middle of a huge game-changing black swan event.
As tragic as COVID-19 has become, it's also the kind of shocking event that can snap us back to reality and acts as a cultural reset button like 9/11 and the Great Recession were. Things are really that bad, if not worse.
Mark my words, you think the SJW's will last forever but then you'll be wishing they'd come back ten years from now when the next batch of moral guardians emerge and make the SJW's look sedate, just like how they currently make the fundies of the old days look tame.
EDIT: Feel free to rate me Optimistic, but nothing lasts forever. I think the SJW craze is about to end. I don't know if things will get better than they were, but they will change.
Now, I'm wondering what the next group of crazy moral guardians will be like.
