I still reckon there's a case to made for multivitamins and minerals though. They cost very little and it means your chances of having micronutrient deficiency, at least for the known micronutrients, are much lower.

Oh I'd say there is, it's just cheaper and easier to just... go outside for a bit. If you're of a darker complexion you should take a bit more time in the sun if you can. Thankfully I'm very lucky and have a gorgeous southward facing garden on top of a hill. Also- if people with hypertension/heart disease are very high risk, what is the occurrence of heart disease in China? I remember at the beginning of this thread a lot of discussion about their polluted air when it was primarily thought of as a respiratory disease. There seems to be a shift in thinking there, based on discussions about comorbitities and the virus attacking blood cells/affecting hemoglobin and the hypoxcity being caused by an anemia rather than lack of respiratory oxygen.

Anyone know if the high rate of smoking in China results in more heart disease or more respiratory illnesses (emphysema, copd) for the Chinese? Has there been any data released from China that discusses any of the comorbitities? (My guess is no but I'm asking anyway).

Or am I just confused and should return to my non-science corner of the world?

The rate of reported cases is going down, but the thing is these numbers are just the tip of the iceburg. Now I'm no doomer, I'm not predicting societal collapse and my concerns rest more in the economic sphere, however when China and other shithole countries are either lying or unable to fully test for cases it's clear that the true extent of this pandemic and it's repercussions are still unknowable.
