Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

I'm sorry to double post but this whole fucking virus and lockdown is because of some city in Asia you wouldn't give a shit about.

Goddamn, if there's ever an example of something small on one side of the world effecting the other side, we got it right here!

His point is that the west is already doing all it can. That is of course without invading china and forcing it to comply. We already recycle fucking everything but the Chinks are, as we keep pointing out, POLLUTION gobblins.

More news from the banana republic. Those mad lads never fail to amuse me :story:

This time the president of the banana republic decided to have a snack at a local bakery, hug the fans, visit a hospital and remind us all of the importance of FREEDOM.

Based and redpilled, clearly.

I love Bolsonaro just because of how magnificent of a fuckup he is. It's like a nuclear explosion happened during a traincrash in the middle of a city filled with orphaned puppies. Brazil will fucking burn to the god damned ground.

Its reduce, reuse, recycle. As in reduce the amount of plastic bags, reuse your bags and then as a last resort to recycle. The focus is suppose to be on reducing and reusing first.

but the Chinks are, as we keep pointing out, POLLUTION gobblins.

Mindless insect race is more like it.

Regardless it doesn't change the fact that our method of dealing with trash is by exporting it to these third world asian countries which then just gets pushed into waterways regardless.

Hence why the paper bags that degrade is far more preferable then to the current method of "out of sight, out of mind it's in chink waters now"

Anyways done sperging about plastic bags

Sorry if this is late, but what passes for democracy in Cambodia is in intensive care now.

If you know anything about the post-Khmer Rouge history of Cambodia, you know Hun Sen is an S-tier bastard. Nothing about this development is good.

Just read about him today in this article:

Although China posed a threat to Southeast Asia by mishandling the initial outbreak of the crisis, no blame was publicly expressed in the region. As a matter of principle, the very question was perceived as nonsense: “Why would we need to be afraid of tiger’s dung since we are not scared of the tiger?” asked Hun Sen.

Video Archives for April 9
According to SkyNews Australia, in late January doctors at the WHO pushed to declare a global health emergency and reccomend travel restrictions. The measure was voted down and two days later the WHO released a statement praising chinas response and urging governments around the world to not restrict travel.

They have refused to reveal who voted for those measures.

Some Youtubers commented on Styx's latest vlog about corona-chan.

That was the same day (Tuesday 31 December 2019) that the real government of China in Taiwan told those useless fuckers about confirmed human to human transmission.

That they sell both paper and plastic? Great. But you do understand that just because they can sell one at a higher price, doesn't mean that make more money in it...right?
Profits on manufactured goods are normally based on a percentage of the orders total value, so selling paper makes more money if the margin is the same.
If they replace all plastic bags with paper they will make MUCH more money.

Yes because that's exactly what happens.

I know you didn't read it so-
recycling.PNG

Hundreds of thousands? How many does the US generate per year? And not all of that is the bags we were actually talking about?

Ahh, so a minuscule amount of recycling.
But how much does Asia put into the oceans per year?
dirty bastards.PNG

So that's around 5,670,000 tons per year just from Asia, much more than the 'hundreds of thousands of tons' sent to be recycled.

So you're intentionally ignoring the part that it enters the food chain through fish? Just because you don't see it doesn't mean you aren't effected by it. Do you have the short sightedness of a toddler?
I agree we should nuke Asia.

No, but that you should at least scrutinize all material to see if they are twisting or hiding information rather then just accepting it blindly because it agrees with you.
You didn't do that you just rejected it out of hand with assumptions.

I won't be responding further to your imbecility.

Another Boris derangement victim has just fucked their career because he said something 'unacceptable'. The RMT won't tell us what he said but have decided to suspend him. I don't think they're going to have an inquiry or anything, I think they've already decided he's fucked following a vote on the National Executive and a statement by the leadership. Actually given this is the RMT I'm surprised they had a vote rather than just all coming at him with broken beer glasses. It seems like a surprising example of due process being followed. I'm honestly impressed.

Steve Hedley, Senior Assistant General Secretary of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union, is believed to have made comments on social media about Boris Johnson's condition.

He is a longstanding RMT official and is effectively the union's number two. A spokesman for the union said:
Following a meeting of the union's National Executive a decision has been made to suspend Senior Assistant General Secretary Steve Hedley with immediate effect while a formal investigation takes place into his conduct.
– RMT SPOKESMAN

In a joint statement RMT President Michelle Rodgers and General Secretary Mick Cash said:
Steve Hedley's comments do not represent the views of this trade union and are wholly unacceptable.
– JOINT STATEMENT

To paraphrase Patrick Bateman "Try getting a reservation at Scotts now!"

Some zoo animals are missing guests. The shyer ones like Okapi are likely really happy right now. Ever tried seeing one at a zoo? You won't. They are always hiding.

You got their numbers to show this? If they made better profit on paper bags then they would be for the plastic ban as it forces their "higher return" product. Instead they are pushing plastic and against any bans....as if they know they can get better margins on it.

You're seriously considering just the US output of trash and shipped from one article, ignoring the entire rest of the first World that ships their trash as well to these countries and then complaining because its so small (the output of just one country rather then the total sum of the first World), why bother. While still ignoring the long term effects that have been pointed out, along with how a mess on one side of the world effects the other. Either you're an idiot or disingenuous.

You didn't do that you just rejected it out of hand with assumptions.

How dare you be skeptical of the Canadians plastic bag Association and their attempts at stopping plastic bag ban! Surely of there's anyone you can trust wholly it's a salesman trying to sell a product.

Sarcasm aside, there's nothing in there about the long term effect. Half of it saying we should use plastic because its cheaper.

I won't be responding further to your imbecility.

Lol, go back to reddit you cringy fuck.

Except British Banks can't be replaced in a heartbeat. Indeed the issue with the City of London is it is many, many times larger than any other EU financial institution. Paris and Frankfurt don't even come close and the expected shift from London clearing houses to european centres like the above?

As you're implying, it's a matter of infrastructure. The LSE sits on top of all the major interconnects between Europe and the US, and has more miles of fiber connecting it to the world than any other financial centre outside of the NYSE. It's right next door to some of the biggest financial and insurance operators on the planet.

The banks and major traders could move their offices to european capitals, but they'd be adding seconds of latency to their trading operations on the FTSE and other UK indexes, which still set the trends for european market openings, in an era when brokerages measure success in nanoseconds. Could Frankfurt or some other European trading centre replace that? One day, maybe. It would require billions in investment, with thousands of miles of fibre links to be laid and all the concomitant comms infrastructure upgrades within the exchanges to deal with the extra traffic - infrastructure that the City has built up over several decades. That sort of investment isn't something that can just be replaced "in a heartbeat".

The major threat to London banking is financial passporting - and it's a real and immediate threat, one that the government has not publicly addressed. I have to assume they're dealing with it. There's too much money involved for it to not be sorted.

Long story short, the City isn't going anywhere.

Personal anecdote from a state prisoner. Coronachan is in their prison, and they are going on lockdown. Everyone is on edge, and the guards were "openly arguing with their superiors" about a lack of communication.
