Closing data from yesterday finally came in. Spike in deaths to 619, which is still not that big comparatively, specially taking into accpunt how many are being added because they weren't counted by certain autonomies, I already told you of that particular fuckup. Cases still down and recoveries still up, so all in all a very positive day despite the right wing screeching.

The right wing btw is completely loosing the plot and fragmenting. The PP through the andalusian junta tried to ban people criticizing their handling of the SAS in response to our persecution of directives. Of fucking course since rajoi's gag law was overturned this is now illegal, so it just got leaked and got province sindicated to go after their neck. The PP, knowing what was coming, just buried their head on the sand and tried not to add fuel, but as I explained their VOX allies are both new to this and fiercelly fucking proud of themselves. So of course they would not tollerate such a stain as anything the right wing did being called UNCONSTITUTIONAL, after all they are the "constitutionalists"! So of course they tried to pull THE EXACT SAME FUCKING STUNT as the directives and claim it was the ministerial PSOE sending the order. But shock of all shocks, it was also obvious bullshit, and the evidence was in our favor. So the PP, after prompting by Ciudadanos (the other right wing party), kicked Vox to the curve, blamed them for everything and joined in on the lynch, which of course was immediatelly called out by the unions because it was the PP's signatures on the doc, not Vox's. So now social media down south is a fucking free for all, and the right lies bent, broken, divided and assfucked. "The side of unity" HAH! How was that saying? Divided we fall? Seems the PP didn't get that memmo. And to think all this dumpsterfire started because I some cleaner asked me what the fuck we were planning on doing with the roomfull of boxes filled with trash and I responded "wait what?"

This is where so many of these politicians lacking all semblance of nuance should take into consideration the legal doctrine of "reasonable accommodation". The Government has a major overriding public interest (not spreading a plague) that has run into a constitutional right. Two in fact. The right of assembly and religion. Rather then just flat out banning both of them, the mayor should have done something like order "Okay, I can't stop you from doing this, but I can require you all to wear masks and have someone checking temperatures at the door". And then fine them if they don't do THAT. He's not banning the gathering or the worship, he's addressing the underlying public interest instead and requiring reasonable accommodation.

But I suppose thats much harder to think through over "IMMA SEND MY JACKBOOTS TO ROUND YOU ALL UP!".

And this is why the pushbacks will only increase. People are going to sue, get injunctions, etc., or just do as they please. This has been an object lesson for everyone as to just what "they" think of "us". We're just animals to them, supposed to be subservient to their every whim. No. Done rationally, quarantines make sense. Putting entire states on house arrest is counterproductive at best and criminal at worst.

Ya I don't think that idiot they interviewed from WIRED or whatever has any clue. I don't think this will be a "APP" but built in to the OS. This is a collaborative thing between Apple and Google. There is zero need to use a 3rd party app.
It also looks like it will use Bluetooth rather then normal location services to see if your in range of someone with the E-coof.

This can still be used to track people. If you go to the park and some dumb boomer there actually has location services turned on and his phone pings your phone over BT then they know you are also at that park.

If you must have a smartphone and want to keep the os up to date then just set the E-coof flag to positive. Once their phones starts telling them every day to self isolate because they bumped in to someone with the coof then maybe they will start to question their blind faith in tech.

In the U.S. most states don't seem to be keeping good track of how many recovered cases there are, so I assume the official stats are way off and the number is much higher.

I think it will be a long while yet until we get a better idea of how many people had this and recovered at home.

There will also be people who died at home and were missed, but I think that will be vastly outweighed by those who recovered and didn't get counted.
