You gotta love how insane things are when it's three women working on a story listing all his sexual harassment and then trying to claim Biden didn't sexually harass anyone.

I reiterate what I said before; how exactly are Trump supporters the cultists here?
Because the deification of the Obama era is going from an unhealthy obsession to straight up fetishism. It would be funny if it weren’t so pathetic.

Obama is a moderately handsome black man so there's a decent chance it's literal as well as metaphorical fetishism.

Honestly? We'd have to see how the poll in question was conducted, what questions were asked, what the sample size was and who was sampled(polls that over sample democrats at the expense of republicans and independents exist, after all). Just saying that one new poll says a thing isn't saying much.

With the web being a thing, I think any poll published by a place with press credentials should have to provide a link to the questions it asked.

They have made this turtle looking man into Khorne...this is the best timeline.

Depressing shower thought: We could be stuck with AOC for the next 50 years

DNCe hates AOC & "the squad" because their Koolaid Prog agenda scares their donors.
Daily reminder that the DCCC (the arm of the DNC that runs their congressional campaigns) has implemented a policy 5-year black balling of any consultancy that works with anyone who runs in a primary against an incumbent democratic congressman, preventing any more dark horsing like AOC.
And the aforementioned attempts to gerrymander AOC specifically into a one-term blip.

so all the mass deaths of iraqi,Afghanistan, Pakistani, Yemeni, Somalian, Libyan, Sudanese, Lebanese, Bosnian, and Syrian civilians are ok though. Did I miss anyone else?

these people believe that us history only begun four years ago and no other president before trump had done anything more heinous and that all Americans live under a fascist dictatorship that allows for daily criticism of president trump.

if you think americans dying of the coronavirus is a cause for promoting a political agenda then you're a part of the problem.

Obama killed 300,000 with swine flu, nary a peep from the media.

Yeah, I miss how nobody died from 2008-2016, that brief immortality was pretty sweet.

Only 99.999% of Americans will survive, the 0.001% due to the chinese lying and failing to contain their own bat-eating infected population. That fucking liar!

They'd be moving faster and planting specific flags, which is why I don't believe it.

I get the point of the question, and I've done the same rhetorical exercise on the Democrats in the past. But institutional rot isn't a reliable way to get things done, even though it's incredibly destructive.

For example, say the insidious foreign actor is Iran. Distrust and discord in the USA needs to weaken American responses, not just to the entire globe, but to Iran specifically. Several times in the last 15 years, we've come close to killing Iran's economy, surrounding them with bases, or outright nuking them. From Bush's 2nd term onwards, that risk wasn't a function of strategic foreign policy; those cases arose from dysfunction and disagreement. Chaos as a subversive tool is one thing, but chaos that you can't direct or deflect away from your own goals is too dangerous to try.

The reflexive anti-Bush/Trump/GOP stances easily backfire once one of them winds up being favorable to your cause. Say the foreign actor is North Korea; planting opposition to Bush's "Axis of Evil" makes sense, but those planted institutional seeds then derail Trump when he comes along and does something the Norks want to happen.

So if the American left was going to be subverted into useful idiots for a foreign power, that power would also need to plant pro-foreign power elements into the ideology they used. It's how USSR agents acted back in the day, spinning Soviet dogma into international socialist ideology, and gaining a foothold in the revolutionary left wing across the globe. It's also how modern day Russian assets act, like that female lawyer who kicked off the whole Russiagate hysteria by trying to meet with Trump to gain sympathy for a businessman.

And the speed needs to be faster too. If this was a long term Soviet ploy, well, the USSR died out decades ago. Kim Jong Il died too. China's still around, but their current incarnation has only been around since 1979, and the roots of western dysfunction go deeper. Iran, Castro, Sadaam Hussein, etc all failed to gain any direct benefit.

There have always been low cost, long term, sleeper cell type operations, but they would need to generate specific events that have outsized influence on the American system. Having a comprehensive program requires more resources than anyone other than the USSR or China could have put together; USSR influence has been mostly identified, and Chinese influence is nakedly corporate. Neither explains the total ideological conversion of the left.

Of course there's also the tribal possibility, of non-state "foreign" powers that serve the interests of an elite few. Those conspiracy theories are the most popular because you can write them a bunch of different ways to fit observed facts, without needing proof or evidence. I'll ignore those because they're pointless to disassemble, they're indistinguishable from vanilla socioeconomic class-based analysis, and they tend to get rather racial at times, especially on sites like this.

Basically, if American leftists were subverted by a foreign influencing program, then that program is indistinguishable from a bad program that works against its own interests. It's also indistinguishable from general lefty stupidity, which Occam's Razor favors.

Daily reminder that in the 60s-80s, every single disarmament/anti-nuclear peacenik or environmentalist group got funding from the USSR. Which is why the US had to deal with horrendous shit to build new reactors and the soviets could throw up chernobyls style reactors whereever they pleased.

Likewise, Trump is basically guaranteed to be re-elected because despite MSM attempts he's not widely hated like Carter and HW were,

Slightly incorrect. HW was not hated. HW would have almost certainly won the election if Perot hadn't run.
HW was less hated and more seen as a little spineless and weak-willed, principally when it came to domestic matters. (The famous example "Read my lips: no new taxes", and then signing laws with tax increases; not going after Saddam in GW1) He wasn't seen as bad, just "we could do better" - so when Slick Willy came in he was able to get a lot of people on board with him as he seemed like he had a lot of energy and was speaking heavily to not just the usual liberals but cross-aisle to the low & middle class (who he would then sell out to the Mexicans and Chinese, but that wasn't the perception at the time).
Perot, with his extreme pro-economy & bigger business/smaller government approach, appealed to the voters who felt GHW wasn't fighting the democrat agenda hard enough and flocked to him in disprotionate numbers vs. clinton, enough to flip states blue.

Imagine Bernie running as an independent in 2016 - he'd probably get some Trump voters, but would have really sucked support from HRC.

I will stop my 90's political game theory, but want to add that HW was true rise of the "Big Government" RNC - which really it had started with Regan but all of Regan's expansions were done with the goal of ending the Soviets, HW was the start into the 'more government for more government's sake'.

Right, here's the thing. Obama tried... sorta. Here is the order of events that happened Every. Single. Time.

1: A Position opens up.
2: Obama appoints a -very- left-wing judge,
3: Senate, under McConnel, says "Fuck No" and refuses.
4: Obama complains, and says the Senate is blocking him out of spite and racism.

Without fail. I found out this after leaving the left, and... I didn't believe it. I Couldn't. Then I looked it up. It was true, and this still baffles me.

Slightly-but-not-unrealistic tin-foiling says that Obama continued to nominate clearly unacceptable candidates because the DNC told Obama to leave the benches open so Hilary Clinton could make maximum dollars selling them to the highest bidder donor.
Woops.

Their answer is to blame Republicans for blocking all the nominations and forcing the vacancies to remain open. Which is partly true. But that led Reid and Schumer to finally pull the trigger on the "nuclear option" to ram some judges through... which is how McConnell is now grinding out judgeships without the Democrats being able to stop him.

There's a legitimate debate about whether Constitutionally-encouraged legislative gridlock should affect the judiciary. Having a strong political divide is a sign that the country's governance should be slowed down. But it's inarguable that Democrats blowing up a safeguard should be politically punished into the ground for doing so.

There's a long, complex and completely gay answer, so I'm going to try (and likely fail) to boil it to the key points:
America was made by the founding fathers specifically to not be a tyranny of the the majority. Almost everything is "two-thirds" (or greater) instead of simple majority because your stance shouldn't simply be correct & accepted, it should be overwhelmingly correct and accepted, making it very easy for the opposition. This system worked very well when American society was less factionalized, and politicians thought about what was best for the country and not what was best for the party (which is why George Washington did everything he could to prevent the formation of parties). With the intentional fragmentation & factionalization of the political landscape, the minority party power can be weaponized for their disproportionate gain.

Judges, especially federal judges, have incredible power, and should be selected by overwhelming majority. The party in power should have to reach accross the aisle, work with their opposition, and select candidates acceptable to both, because the alternative (pouting and leaving the position unfilled) should not be viewed by either side an option.

But that system neglects the current adversarial state of politics where the goal isn't what's best for the country, its what hurts the other party more than it hurts yours.

I've already posted this in the presidential election thread but I think it sort of shows some TDS in addition to general derangement and lunacy.View attachment 1226462

Crossover from the Something Awful thread. MageMage, an insane troon notorious for getting good threads shut down by whiteknighting "people of size" (e.g. deathfats), is willing to sacrifice it all to remove Donald Trump from the White House.

I've never seen a picture of MageMage but given how outspoken he is about body positivity, I think Carl Benjamin has a particularly relevant quote pertaining to this situation.

wrong thread i know, but we need to archive the fuck out of everything related to this. the NYT needs to be further discredited when this inevitably explodes.

I know, but they flipped out on a Trump and accused him with this but are giving a soft pass to Biden. Since they sucked Obama’s cock for eight years, expect Biden dick sucking until November.

Fairly old, but hilarious how they frame "Trump preventing coal miners from losing their jobs" as "Trump is preventing renewable energy from being developed, prolonging suffering of coal miners, and destroying the environment, how dare you?!?!". Funniest part has to be the context; complaining that their room was over 100 F within the past couple of days, and this was shoehorned in because "Orange Man Bad".

Gotta love how he has to remind everyone that he's really thinking of what's best for those coal miners... Trump is just prolonging their suffering by not forcing them out of their jobs with heavyhanded government regulation, any compassionate President would simply order them lined up against the wall and shot!

Well, black lung isn't fun..... but, to act like coal miners are the only blue-collar worker to ever "suffer" and it would be some kind of humane thing to just kill them now..... is pretty pervasive among those folks.

I really do think a lot of these people genuinely think they're saving these poor untermensch from dismal existences by trying to outlaw blue collar work by executive fiat, not natural obsolescence, thereby ending their livelihoods overnight with no real alternatives.

And that the workers would be THANKFUL for that.

It's worth pointing out that with modern respirators almost nobody dies of that anymore. The more dangerous things are collapse and gas explosions, which are also mitigated with technology (special bitting on rock grinders and water spraying heads).

I still don't get why or how his campaign sank immediately because of that, honestly. Hek, I'm still in denial that that sound came from his lungs. Oh well.

The DNC and the media conspired wholesale to blood libel Howard Dean for the scream, the say way they blood libel Sanders these days for being unelectable.

The decision had already been made behind the scenes to run John Kerry, since it was still too early for Hillary's fait accompli run and Kerry being ex-military would give him flank against being declared unpatriotic.

Dean fucked shit up by running as an explicit anti-war candidate, which pissed off the DNC so they conspired with the media to use the scream incident to kill off his campaign.

Dean in turn fell in line with the DNC like a good little bitch boy, and the speed to which he got on his knees to suck establishment cock and apologize for going rogue, ultimately worked out in his favor in that he was rewarded for bending the knee without a fight by being given control over the entire DNC party machine. Because they saw how he managed to get the youth vote whereas Kerry barely excited the base in so far as he wasn't Bush.

Dean in turn, orchestrated the sweeping Congressional landslide victories of 2006 that got the Democrats full control over both houses of Congress. This was done due to the fact that Dean logically felt it was bullshit that Democrats CONSISTENTLY allowed huge number of House and Senate seats that the GOP controlled, go unchallenged or not even running a candidate for them. Dean effectively forced the DNC to pump huge amounts of cash in EVERY SINGLE SEAT in the House and Senate that were up for grabs in 2006 and most importantly, defied party purity testers by explicitly seeking out Blue Dog Democrats candidates to run in states where a bleeding heart SJW Democrat had no chance in hell of winning. This had a bad side effect though, in that he stabbed the guy who beat Joe Lieberman in the back to win the nomination to his seat, refusing to give him a dime while funneling thousands upon thousands of DNC dollars to keep a now independent candidate Lieberman in office.

Regardless, Dean was rewarded with another stab in the back when Obama got elected. Obama fired Dean from running the DNC and put Hillary loyalists in charge, per the corrupt bargain he made with Hillary to ensure she controlled the entire DNC machine so as to ensure her ascension to the throne in 2016. For what it's worth, Hillary did take care of Dean after he was once again stabbed in the back and got him cushy work in the lobbyist field.

This had two side effects:

1. What was left of Howard Dean's spirit was completely crushed and he became a mindless drone for the DNC elites

2. By axing Dean, Obama fucked himself in the ass since Obama's eight years in office saw the DNC abandon the 50 State Strategy Dean pushed and caused a record number of collapse of the Democrats both in Congress (losing the House in 2010, losing the Senate in 2014) and even worse losses on the state level.

So going slightly OT from the last point, let me get this straight, from what I've heard, are the Dems seriously gonna try Impeaching Trump again?!

They say insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different outcome, this has gone far beyond that. They all but power leveled their voter fraud intentions (Ballot Harvesting, mail-in voting etc.) constantly treat Americans like crap, refuse to cooperate with people and the President and still expect people to support and believe them. Seriously I don't think the Dems will survive the next 5 years.

It's all they got. They have gone so irrevocably insane that if they can't remove Trump from office, they will make his life a living hell and slime his presidency to the point of tarnishing his tenures as President in the history books.

This really makes me glad that Trump won. If Hillary won (and didn't catch Corona), the first naked power grab by Democrats would probably be to nationalize the medical sector or force a single payer system.

They would never do that. Because that actually would be something the people WANT.

Hillary would have gone full gun grabber before she pissed off the insurance companies (who she still blames for costing Bill both the House and Senate in 1994 and who she was forced to stifle herself for the rest of Bill's tenure as President just to get them to stop trying to run Bill out of office in 1996).

The Democrats will never do a damn thing to advance/fix health care in the US for two reasons:

1. The lunatic left want medicare for all and the abolishment of private insurance and nothing short of that will make them happy and they will proactively punish moderates that won't deliver that.

2. The Democrats FEAR the insurance-medical industry as they have billions to use as a weapon and will gladly funnel those billions and and exploit right wing media outlets, to get the GOP back into power to stop anything the Democrats might do and they have the victories (1994 and 2010) to prove it.

Seriously. I'm old enough to remember voting in the 2000 election, and in the uncertain chaos that followed, the news was going nuts over every little thing. I limited myself to only two shows: The Spin Room, a half hour daily recap with Bill Press and Tucker Carlson; and The Daily Show. Jon Stewart was a legit useful news source that actually kept me decently informed for a few weeks. He earned his reputation as an opinion shaper, before squandering it in the Obama years.

20 years later TDS is irredeemable garbage infected with TDS... but Tucker Carlson is arguably the most relevant and entertaining person remaining on cable news. There's an ironic flip happening here, but it has nothing to do with Trump and everything to do with the state of media.

(Bill Press did fine for a while, but seems to have been nudged out of relevance by remaining an old school liberal. Now he's down to doing a radio show out of Chicago and a tiny presence on Youtube.)

I should note that part of me loves imagining Stewart in full "eating shit out of a toilet" insane mode (like he was when he committed career suicide screaming "THIS ISN'T YOUR COUNTRY REPUBLICANS!" on Colbert's show in 2016) because he is now a nobody being made to sit at home doing jack shit (because all of the tv show ideas he pitched to HBO were soundly rejected) and Tucker Carlson, who's career Stewart seemingly killed in the mid-00s, is now the new king of Fox News, having replaced old Bill O'Reilly. Must drive him insane thinking how fortunes have changed for him and Tucker.

Close, they're aware things have changed, and they're desperately trying to FORCE them back to the way they were, because that was their Trek-like Nexus where everything was perfect,

For THEM.

And like the antagonist in that film... any body count is acceptable to achieve it.

This is where there is a huge divide for the Democrats:

There are the ones who want to return back to the "old days" (IE Obama era) and those who are the "burn everything down and build a communist utopia on the corpses of conservatives" lunatic lefties.

I think Stewart realized that another 4-8 years of a democrat presidency would be a comedy desert and wanted out. Must have been blacklisted or something because I've never seen a career end so abruptly and finally. For the late 00s and early 10s he unopposed king of late night.

That woman who accused Bill O'Reilly really did Fox a massive favor.
