Okay, I’m a bit of a doomer, but this is getting a bit crazy even for me. What gives the cops the right to dictate to people that they can’t have a little recreation outdoors? That’s bullshit. If it’s an assembly of upwards of fifty people, sure, that’s not very safe, but a family of four having a picnic? If one of them has it, it doesn’t matter. The issue at hand, is that in general in the workplace (now more than ever before) people are taught to keep discussions brief, and work related. This is a very diverse and divided population, and if you start in about race, class and gender, religion, sexuality, it is a real pain in the ass from a human resources standpoint.

If you are all there to discuss how to repair a bridge, nobody really wants to hear your rant about fat-bottomed women, penny-pinching Jews, or urban black queers moving into your neighborhood.

Chances are, the lady running the copy machine has a fat ass, the project manager is a penny-pinching Jew, and the architect's partner is a queer negro.

So for that reason, such discussions are kept out of the workplace.

As are generally discussions about politics, and contentious issues like this "Lakewood community."

You can discuss that stuff almost anywhere else, but a lot of cities won't give you a permit to hold a gathering of anti-semites or Black nationalists because they don't want the drama and the drain on law enforcement.

There's rumors about the CCP releasing propaganda that the disease was started by Africans. There's no conformation but it doesn't seem that far-fetched, remember the Swine flu was "The African swine fever" over there for a while. Because they couldn't differentiate between ASVF and H1N1.

The controversial decision to administer hydroxychloroquine at The Resort at Texas City over the last few days was made by Robin Armstrong, a physician and medical director of the nursing home.

"It's actually going well. People are getting better," Armstrong told NPR, adding that after just a handful of days, some of the 39 patients on the medication are showing signs of improvement.

Why the big show of welding bars over people's doors

I recognize you're just being autistic, but the Chinks were doing that because they are 20% of the world's (technically) human population and some of those people are so shitty that they wander around in public after being diagnosed with COVID-19. I mean, they could have just shot them or let them roam free infecting everyone, but containing them instead and dropping food packages right outside the door seems like a moderate compromise.

The problem we have here it's the crack that could make the dam break.

Just after closure of the Pubs, restraunts etc, and the government asked for people to keep some distance, the first weekend Snowdon, normally quite quiet this time of year, instead turned into this:

As locals, and people from nearby Liverpool and Manchester flooded the area by the tens of thousands.

It also got declared by the National Park's rangers as "The Busiest day in Living Memory".

Now, police forces twatting about harassing isolated couples on a peak, or "checking they're shopping only for essentials" or asking @Fareal to turn her radio down are fucking stupid measures and obvious over-reaches of power.

Telling a family to perhaps lay off going to the park for a bit? Ehhhhhh. Borderline but not as stupid as the above. Mostly because no police force wants the wrath of the Home Secretary on them if they accidentally create a new Snowdon on their patch. The Met's gotten enough angry phone calls over Hyde Park recently as Londoners really do not have any open space in their homes. To the point it's probably making a lot of them fucking miserable as the "good" part of their life has been cut off at the knees.

This is also the flipside of the coin. The Average Garden size in a UK home is getting smaller and smaller as developers get greedier and greedier and squeeze that extra house or two into plots that don't need that kind of space due to our massive housing demand that gets you called a racist if you point out we keep letting a population the size of a UK city into the state every year. The kids will be going stir crazy in the same tiny ass back garden and so need a bit more space. Taking a few snacks and a blanket with you during their exercise shouldn't be an issue, but if one family can do it.... hundreds probably will all at the same time.

Either way, public faith in the police is tanking about as hard as trust for China and journalists. "Reckonings" won't just be with the slant eyed fucker of Beijing I think.
