don't disagree with you. I actually see your point. If he just kept adjusting his function to account for changes in the variance in the data, then wasn't he basically trying to mislead everyone?
Does mathematics actually scare you? I guess so, since you even fucked up elementary operators.
Then why are you bringing up math you don't at all fucking understand?
The software is called Minitab, it's specifically designed for statisticians and people trained to click buttons. The other I used was excel, it's trash but it's convenient. Matlab is more of an engineering thing, most doing pure math would prefer mathematica or free open-source software.
So... you're wrong again. At least you got one thing right, I do love mathematics. More importantly, I understand it.
If you see the point, just fucking concede and admit that you're wrong. I've shared plenty of Weibo shit in the megathread that turned out to be fake news and fabrications and I'm able to concede. Same goes with my initial views on hoarding and lab leaks. Is your autism stopping you from being a sane human?
That twitter handle was basically playing a devil's advocate role, "hey I'm gonna see if these numbers are actually fake". He was proven to be ultimately wrong as soon as the virus started to take hundreds of lives in a single fucking day.
H0: Function doesn't account for variance
H1: It does
So H0 is not rejected. He even showed plots which demonstrates the deviation of his function from the real data, and as expected, the curves were stretched very far apart. While he didn't concede (he never said the numbers are fake, unlike you), his graph did disprove his theory. If he was trying to mislead, showing the comparison is counterproductive.
And, for that matter, if that shit Barron's dragged up is just bullshit, then why did they publish it? Don't they care about their reputation? What the hell is up with that? Is it all just propaganda? Was I completely misled?
Because that's what it is, it's bullshit. Develop some independent thinking, I thought autists are good at microanalysis and hyper-factualism.
- Published mid-Feb
- 99.99% R-sq comes from fitting a curve over CUMULATIVE data, as I've demonstrated
- Conclusion: Numbers are questionable
- My demonstration: Same can be done to American figures, or just numbers I've pulled out of thin air
- Mathematically, it's simple (ie least squares method) to create a best fit line, let alone a polynomial generated by software. The functions used to do so by nature will yield high R-sq
- Conclusion: That "phd" doesn't know what the fuck she is trying to do, maybe Barron misinterpreted her conclusion or something. I assume that's what she said. Since they didn't bother showing their model, I had to make my own.
Why did they publish it?
- Editors don't have a mathematics degree
- Appeal to authority
- To mislead fucktards like you
- They love talking about China's "fake" economy numbers, so they are probably hypercritical of China to begin with, any shade is passable
- They aren't passing it as factual, you're eating it up like sheep
- It actually takes countless time, lots of money, and years of study to get a proper degree specific to a field, which the larger population doesn't have. It takes practical experience to truly understand the shit as well, something you lack.
BTW, this is from that article's comments section:
While this guy failed to give a mathematical explanation and an explanation on his own model, his scepticism is valid. The model sucks shit, did you even bother to fucking understand the concept behind regression analysis? I put it out as simple as possible.
What happened to your R-sq Jihad? Dropped entirely once you're proven to be reaching at something you don't understand?
Just concede, at least you'll get a bit of respect. You're still a brony but at least that makes you a better one.
Anyway, what I'm trying to do here is far more of a workload than one person can reasonably handle on their own. You'd need a whole team to unravel this thing.
I was discussing all this with my own doctor this morning, and he said I needed a break, that I'd already taken on too much work, that I'd been losing sleep, that my cortisol levels were too high, et cetera, et cetera.
You do need a break. Too bad it only lasted for like 3 days. All bronies need a long break, as long as an Eternity.
