I just rate posts dumb if they're from someone who has ever given me a negative rating.

I legitimately can't tell if the rating is supposed to be positive or negative. I often receive it alongside agree, etc.

But I've been to forums where people would post "*drink*" in response to newfaggery, as in "Drink whenever someone posts ____________" so I guess I'm conditioned to see it as a neg-rate.

The from me can go either way. Many times, I’ll use it for things that are genuinely useful information. Other times, it’s because the post was profoundly dumb, but dumb ratings are boring. It’s just an internet sticker anyway, so it means nothing in real life.
