this was in, maybe 2004? I forget when I stopped using Live Journal. it just seemed like the same people were in the same communities. because when they are anchored with DID, it is bound to happen. I feel like I was one of the only "singlets" in the 'kin community and the soulbond/spirit-companion one.
I don't think these two people this topic is for have been there. I assume if they were, there would be people talking about those communities(then again I just joined the fray here, and have not watched many videos. if they were, they would bring up shitty systems in their "people with DID are harmless, fictional interjects are harmless". and not mention Hojo-system or the Neo and Trinity trainwreck)
but yes some of the things these people are educating on are confusing. "alters are literal people but still parts of yourself," which one is it. I might as well learn about it from Astrea's Web.
as for growling at a dog, if it's her kinself/non human alter doing it, isn't that a no brainer? that is what tigers and werecats (like a werewolf but cat?) do? the therianthrope community is full of people who go on about poor behavior , mood swings and dis-associative states. cat's gotta cat, right?
this is going to be intersting. I don't know why, that after watching their videos, I felt like having them be some type of chew toy, or menice them. the kind where that if it were possible to send nightmares to people. I'd send both nin and nan some weird ass dreams. I should talk to my doctor about this right?

The 3% is coming from giving DES assessments to the general population and finding 3%+ with a qualifying DID score. (the same one that results in 57% diagnostic rate from Pottergate)

Which is funny since a quick google search pulls up NAMI showing a 75% rate of people having had a dissociative episode, and only 2% of the population having a chronic dissociative disorder, of which there are many categories. https://www.nami.org/learn-more/mental-health-conditions/dissociative-disorders

Honestly, a lot of stuff on the DES assessment could easily be misconstrued with every day occurrences. I can easily see how people who experience memory issues and executive dysfunction could read those examples and go 'oh, that's me'. These resemble a lot of things that people with ADHD or Autism report.
And that scale is self reported too. Chances are, if people think they already have a disorder, they're going to report higher numbers than they would originally to secure a diagnosis. I think most of the clients at Pottergate aren't referred there by mental health professionals, they find it online while looking for places to get their DID diagnosis.
Basically they're pulling out of their ass.

Which is why self diagnosis is so harmful. When taken out of context if you read the DSM any sane person could come up with 20+ disorders that they feel they have symptoms of if they don't ponder too much on how chronic the symptoms are.

I'm working on Nan's timeline and I'm currently stuck in the middle of some bullshit weeb profiles from the 2000s so I'm sure you can imagine the kind of deviance I'm sifting through.
I came across this comment that I'm interested in learning more about it. Nan designed a 'perverted' dress up game on Deviant Art featuring Haibara, Eisuke and Conan of the manga Detective Conan. I was never a weeb and I don't know enough about it. I'd like to know what exactly made it perverted and what the relationship is between those characters. I'm busy documenting the established events for now, so if anyone has the time to dig into that and come back with some information, I'll give you nothing but a winner react.
It seems to be baed on this post in which she says "have fun with the child" but the post itself won't load for me.

I don't know what you're asking for specifically, but the show/manga as far as I remember is about a teen/young adult who something happens and his body becomes a child. He tries to keep up his personal life with his girlfriend while doing detective work, solving cases and whatnot.

Thanks. I just needed some context. Either way, she's drawn him as a child in underwear so context doesn't really help her in this scenario.
Nan's alter Lacy is currently in a coma and trapped in the attic in the inner world by an animatronic doll called Wendy. Ace was kidnapped and kept as a slave in the basement for a while. We've yet to see a suicide but one is undoubtedly coming.

What I want instead of a suicide, is a homicidal alter who kills all of Nan's alters to take over the body. That would be some top shelf entertainment.

In general child characters (think elementary school) , two of them are basically adults in child bodies - probably another twisted way for her to defend that creation lol
I mentioned this post a little while ago but never posted the . It’s Chloe asking how to go about signaling her DID to whoever controls driving lessons. This is what makes me think that she believes she has DID as I can’t imagine why this would even pop into her head if she didn’t really have it — she never made a video about this so it surely wasn’t to gather info for that.

Once again, the dreaded weeb past appears. I’m not overly familiar with Detective Conan/Case Closed, but I did watch it when it aired on adult swim I just wasn’t incredibly interested. I’ve seen other people answer, but meh. Have some more info.
The premise centers around a high schooler named Jimmy Kudo who is a detective and during a case he was given poison that turned him into an elementary school aged child. He started going under the alias “Conan Edogawa” and continued his detective work. Joined an elementary school and all that.
Haibara is another character who was of high school age that took the poison and aged down to a child. Eisuke is just a regular high school aged teenager as far as I can remember.
So, basically, age sliding and adults/teens becoming children (wish fulfillment for Nan surely), and an easy way to wave away anything perverted they might do with the characters by saying they’re all technically 16-18, just stuck in the bodies of children.
À la Identity? Which is, coincidentally, very in line with what she, Nan, and others think DID is. The system has his own “inner world” full of well developed characters/alters who each have their own back story and they all meet up at a motel, though they’re all unaware that they’re alters. It’s actually not a bad movie.
If she plays it up for the camera and in public (as we’ve seen with her and Nan’s videos), why wouldn’t she play it up even when receiving driving lessons? Someone who went to her school posted here in the beginning of the thread said that she often acted dramatic even in school (by running away from people and friends as if upset, being quiet and moody, constantly appearing as if something is wrong, etc), so why wouldn’t she continue the charade in another public education setting? Plus, by asking this, it makes her appear more legitimate with her fan base and it secretly gives her pointers on how she should act like Gramh said. It’s also something she can talk about in her videos and garner more struggle and pity points with. At this point, we have well established that Chloe is rather shrewd about pulling off this con, even if she’s bad at covering her tracks.

Hi there, been lurking in this thread for the last 3 or so days, since the allegations against Nan are pretty damning and also well documented here. Since there seems to be a lot of confusion around their “alters”, I’ve compiled a list below.
Hope this helps despite how much info it is to take in. I watched their videos on and off for a while before all of this, so I was already decently familiar. But I went back and found the missing details.
ETA: I can also compile a list of Nin's alters in the same way if you guys would want? And also wanted to invluce that picture of Warren.
Main reference describing most alters in a short summary: Meet the Alters and any alters who had a video specifically about them are linked below.
- Nan: The host and “core” of the system, so the original person (LARPing). Identifies as nonbinary and asexual, is in a romantic relationship with Chloe.
1a. The “original Nan” that the alters refer to as “old Nan” who integrated with
2a. Kit: This is the previously discussed teen alter who was allegedly flirting with the person Nan lived with who also had DID (or their teen alter, I guess). Liked anime and talked in a slightly higher pitched voice and different vocab, I guess what Nan assumed a younger teen would speak. (You can see Kit here in this video by another system. Interesting quote: “As a young teen alter, I don’t have the maturity and know-how of an adult.” Coupled with the whole flirting with a teenager thing, this is interesting.) - Riven: This is the tough werecat guy in a sexual relationship with Nin. He appears in a lot of their videos, so finding him is easy.
2a. Risk: This was a cat alter that was an angry persecutor towards Nan and would harm the body. Nan also was the “partner” of Risk. (Note: In the video that “Jeremy” made about Risk, he claimed that nonhuman alters weren’t very common, and now they say it’s very common. Hm. He also says that Nan felt more comfortable with a nonhuman protector. But I thought the way alters formed was out of the original’s control?))
2b. Evan: There are technically two Evans but for the sake of ease, I’ll just keep them together. Old Evan was a 16-year-old chubby goth kid. He was “dark and depressed”. After integrating with Risk, he became “Evan 2.0” and apparently didn’t change much other than getting yellow eyes and becoming a werecat.
2c. Seth: This is the creepy alter based on Nan’s IRL brother, Chris. He was a stoner with a Mohawk and a bunch of tattoos, and was also Ace’s brother. He was mad when Ace integrated with Leslie so he subsequently integrated with Evan to make Riven. (Note: the video of Seth was removed before I could archive it.) - Lacy: Integrated alter of Ace and Leslie, Nadia’s second girlfriend, now dormant (but did split Wendy off before going dormant) Went dormant because she was “angry” about things Ace and Leslie had done, though she didn’t specify what afaik.
3a. Ace: A “sexual protector” who was in a relationship with Sam/spharker, also the one who was locked in the basement after the trauma with Sam or whatever. Talked like a valley girl and really liked alcohol, smoking, and drugs. Also thought the body was not thin enough. Nan’s edgy OC.
3b. Leslie: A Wiccan with a stutter. Was Nadia’s girlfriend. Nothing too remarkable about her except for her integration into Lacy. - Jeremy: age sliding alter with the terrible accent, is either a responsible adult or a really irritating “little” (Jeremy 2.0 video)
4a. Old Jeremy: Annoying Canadian, was 26-27, was the primary protector and seemed to be the most responsible. Had a lot of trauma relating to sickness and cold weather. Integrated because he “couldn’t go on anymore” There are two videos about his integration, one by Nan and one by Riven.
4b. Warren: A former little that was never really established by Nan in any content, but appeared to be a young black kid (when Nan drew them on instagram) - Nadeen: a black transwoman who kept Ace in the basement. Is a “sexual protector” who lived in an apartment near the “sewers” where the littles live/d. (gross wtf…)
- Cliff: newest alter, the construction worker who likes to drink and apparently doesn’t like being an alter
Other less complicated and less common ones
7a. Wendy: the “animatronic doll” that split off of Lacy before she went dormant
7b. Cal: Gatekeeper, and also a “German Filipino man” who talks very calmly.
7c. Agnes: A young woman who spends most of her time in the Inner World in the greenhouse with Cal. They’re in a relationship.
7d. Sadie, Tommy, Doggy, Madison: The “littles”. Sadie age-slides from 3-5, Tommy likes Cowboys, and that’s about all I know about them.
7e. Shasta, Maude, The Black Horse: These are the “fictives” from Mud Sky, Nan’s graphic novel. Shasta was apparently broken off to “cry uncryable tears”. I don’t know much about the other two.
