Reading my own Magic 8 Ball, I think it would affect both equally. NeoUniparty Loser (aka Principled Conservative) is certainly a thing within the government, but it's not really something active voters go out of their way for. If you're voting for Mr Bland you're not voting third party.
There's also probably a rough comparison to be made when the Religious Right declared they were taking their ball and going home over Trump and then he won anyway.
