There are several people I know who have been taking Sanders' withdrawal from the primary very badly, decrying their hatred for Biden, saying some VERY extreme things I can't get behind, but I acknowledge all that as the grieving process doing its thing. People get really emotionally invested in stuff, need time and space, etc.

But I just had one of said people RT this onto my feed:

"Biden's a bad candidate because he's guilty of almost everything you can accuse Trump of."

That is far right propaganda.

Before even thinking about giving enough to the main premise of that particular piece of horseshit, just look at the framing here. Biden is "guilty of things" while Trump is only "accused of things."

The only people I've ever seen talk that way are channers and Fox News anchors.

And really the rest of this sentiment isn't worthy of even acknowledging properly, but just for a taste, I'm reasonably confident that Joe Biden has not:
- Appointed card carrying nazis to positions of power in the white house.
- Repeatedly called for and tried to enact genocide without even bothering to make a pretense of having a reason to do so beyond white nationalism.
- Raised Donald Trump's monstrous children and placed them in positions of power.
- Raped an 11 year old girl.
- Been the unquestioning puppet of Steve Bannon for years now.
- Openly engaged in treason, multiple times, utterly shamelessly.
- Effectively or actually shut down every vital department of the federal government.
- Violently attacked his now ex-wife because he was upset about how the surgical procedure to jack up the back of his scalp to hide his baldness.
- Treat the presidency of the US like being a Mafia don, with all the violent threats, cronyism, theft, and bribery that implies.
- Appoint more far right "judges" with no real legal expertise than I can account.
- Do any of this to trans people

I could, of course, continue to extend that list for at least another hundred posts without running out of things to add. I'm pretty damn sure though I'd just be preaching to the choir.

I'm also pretty damn sure the person who put that shit onto my feed hasn't actually responded to a single thing I've said for several years now, so I'm not especially broken up about hitting the unfollow button here, but there are a lot of other people who are really stepping dangerously close to this line here I hope take a moment to reassess the next time they see this sort of thing about just what the hell kind of a crowd they've found themselves in and where their priorities should be.
