To new users: just saying something happened in one of your private groups isn't sufficient here. A few posts before this, she posted the same photo but it was cropped close up so you couldn't see the cane or umbrella. Note the knee brace. There probably really isn’t. Eventually I’m sure it would have come out one way or the other. And I do remind myself that not only is it better for people around her to be aware of this deeply disturbing dark side of hers, it’s without a doubt ultimately better for Nan herself to be held accountable and not allowed to continue with the justifications she’s probably been making to her own deeply fucked up mind. Because she’s not healing, she’s driving herself further away from any point of return.

And if there’s a lesson everyone should take from this is that this online mental health advocacy and education community really is dangerous. They’re a danger to themselves and they’re a danger to others. They have no business positioning themselves as authorities on anything.

Nan is a woman. Her identifying as 700 different genders doesn't change that.

I might buy into the genderless void if she didn't have OC that she roleplays as that is "she/her".

I think that what makes the DID community so dangerous is the fight to not get treatment. To live disordered. To be "accepted as the special snowflakes they are". In any other disorder or illness this is considered harmful. It's harmful here, too. Maybe even worse because predators have moved from the furry or whatever community into this one where they can pose as underage and explore their fantasies.

Just wanted to point out to people feeling bad for Nan: their therapist told them to stop posting their art online, clearly because they realized Nan’s shit wasn’t healthy and yet Nan continued to do so anyways. So, they were told by at least one person with some authority that what they were drawing and posting wasn’t okay, but they ignored their own therapist’s advice.

Absolutely, and in Nan's own words, drawing was more important to her. We all know why those professionals told her to stop drawing. You take one look at the shit she was drawing and you get an insight into the way she views the world. It's far from normal and probably far from legal. On top of that, her parents found her art and disapproved strongly. I'd like to think most parents would launch their kid out of the house if they found that kind of shit amongst their things. And perhaps they did - shortly after Nan was living away again. Perhaps her trauma was her parents lack of approval in relation to her child fetish?

That's why I never understood mental support groups. What exactly did people expect that if the put a bunch of sick people together they somehow heal each other. there is no logic to it...
