That wasn't the issue. In addition to not being paid what they were initially promised, the girls were lied to about where the videos were ending up. It's not that unusual. Ever since that "Diary of a Call Girl" many young women got enamored with the idea of how sex work was an excellent catalyst for endless personal essays. It's all about having "the experience". In the past that might have been bumming around India and smoking weed, backpacking in Thailand(and smoking weed), Burningman(weed) or anything else they can talk about for the rest of their lives. They are essentially "sex work" tourists slumming it. Look at Zoe Quinn, she stripped for half a day and had someone take shitty nude pictures of her, she considers herself a staunch protector of sex workers because she used to be one. Allison Rapp tried to keep it real when working at Nintendo by having a page advertising her as an escort, if she took any work and actually put out is unknown but I don't think that was ever the purpose, it was not about the money.

There's probably more people with threads here that are just like that, they want to have something unique and unusual in their lives so they can talk about it, a kind of fascinator. They don't expect that they might be selling their asshole for money in eastern europe, but no one is a crackhead the first time they pick up the pipe, it takes a while. They will definitely feel the plight of that woman though, even if all they've done themselves is having an onlyfans that's pulling in seven bucks a month with pictures that wouldn't even violate any rules on Instagram.
