The suffix NOS is an outdated suffix used from the DSM4, it's now called OSFED, or otherwise specified feeding and eating disorder. Criteria is basically the same, doesn't really matter the diagnostic term, though. She has never been diagnosed with an ED.
EDNOS is a technicality catchall for patients that don't meet full diagnostic criteria. EDNOS is not really used outside of what's in someone's file. If a woman has EDNOS, but it's because she is obsessed with being thin and restricting, but still has a monthly period, she attends group to deal with her anorexic behavior, not EDNOS.
Saying someone has EDNOS is practically meaningless because it's a kitchen sink of ED's like pica, someone obsessed with gaining muscle mass, or someone with bulimia who doesn't eat more than a certain amount of food in during a binge/purge session.
Let's just agree that she starves herself and/or restricts calories excessively to lose weight, and there's no social pressure from an abuser that is causing it. She's absolutely not bulimic.
