"Current year" terms that piss you off

A new one popping up is based on the app quibi. I seriously hope nobody irl is gonna start using phrases like "it'll be done in a quibi." When they mean ten minutes
That's pretty stupid, especially since the phrase "it'll be done in a quibi" is just "it'll be done in a jiffy" sans jiffy. Furthermore, a jiffy is a unit of time defined as the amount of time light takes to travel one centimeter in vacuum (~33.36 picoseconds). A jiffy is many, many orders of magnitude faster than this anecdotal 10 minute "quibi" unit, thus "it'll be done in a jiffy" is still the better phrase to describe "I will get that done/get to that task very quickly".

Probably already been said but...

Privilege.

Setting aside whether the theory behind it is true or not, it implies that some people are being treated too well and that the way to get equality isn't to treat the disadvantaged better, but to treat the people who are well off shittier. When you frame the conversation in terms of undeserved privilege, that's what you're saying, whether it's your intention or not.

If it makes you feel better, people are already suspicious of it and think it's some kind of money laundering

That "latinx" thing is adapted from a way of "gender-neutral spelling" popular among Spanish speaking leftists, using an "x" in place of a vowel when the vowel would determine the gender of the word (as you say, not just in pronouns). It's not new at all though, that way of spelling has been around in Spain for more than a decade. Nowadays it's more common among Spanish leftoids to change the vowel for an "e" instead ("¿Nosotres somos latines o blanques?"), because that way it can be pronounced. It's equally irritating and amusing.

(Edit: just saw I'm late with this, but this wasn't brought by colleges and academia, at least not in Spain. It was brought by leftist political parties and organizations)
Would you say Americans are appropriating the Spanish language?

“Colonizer”
How come I’m still here in Britain then?
“Bourgeois”
Mostly said by the borgie boys themselves.
”Soft”
I fucking hate the soft wholesome aesthetic nowadays, people forced it too much.
“Incel”
It was a funny word when it meant involuntary celibate. Now it just means man I don’t like.
“Bootlicker”
Always said by people who want me to lick their particular preference of boots.
“Garbage human being”
This phrase has been used about so many people it’s stopped being a negative adjective.

"New Normal" I keep hearing it on all the overly shmaltzy commercials right now. "We allneed to pull together for this new normal", "As we adjust to this new normal", "People coming to terms with the new normal", etc. etc. etc. Usually accompanied by music that would make the ASPCA say "damn that is too cloying for us to play with pictures of half-dead animals."

Apparently right now is the "new normal". We will never again leave our houses. Restaurants, bars, libraries, schools, parks, movie theaters, amusement parks, stores, and everything else will never be reopened. If anybody complains just accuse them of wanting to murder people for profit. Stay in your house for the next 18 to 24 months, it's the NEW. FUCKING. NORMAL.

The word clout has been tainted. It was a word that (at least I found) was reserved for people of incredibly high standing. Meaning kings, emperors, and people of more or less exalted status.

Gilgamesh of Uruk had clout. Qin Shi Huang had clout. Twitter handles and "influencers" have an overgrown sense of importance and autism.

When you really break it down, is it that much different? Faggots born in unearned wealth and privilege.
