Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Crosspost from the lawsuit thread. Corona-Chan takes and takes and takes!

TLDR: Vic filed for extension from April 20th to May 20th.

With no new papers coming, we have only the KV and ISWV speds to entertain us since we won't have legal retardation to examine.

The April 20th deadline has been extended to May 20th.

(This has already been granted, but the document is not available yet)

Caitlin confirmed on her twitter that Monica will voice a character in Fruits Basket.

Someone got mad and Caitlin responded.

I know people on here are really defensive when it comes to Caitlin for some reason, but wouldn't it make sense to say that she's not Vic's friend at this point? Between her never liking any of his tweets or engaging with him, not tagging him in posts about shows he starred in (but tagging everybody else) and liking the Dallas Morning News article, I think it'd be safe to say she probably doesn't consider herself to be a friend of Vic anymore. I'd be interested to hear when's the last time they actually spoke.

Alternatively, I'd say she's playing super safe right now. That tweet doesn't read as "Lost friendship with Vic, now Monica is my friend", it looks more like a way to stay neutral. I'm sure if you were friends with two people locked in a bitter lawsuit, you would try not to say anything bad about both of them.

If that's true she could've literally ignored the tweet though. Instead she chose to publicly kiss the whale's fat ass. And Glass just opened herself up to more shit since if reason Rial got cast is cause she's a good voice actor then Vic should still be getting work. But he doesn't cause Glass and everyone else knows that getting roles at funimation is not a merit based system. It's all about kissing ass and sucking dick and it seems like Glass is quite familiar with the former.

If these supposed friends are actually still Vic's friends they are still huge fucking cowards. Even Johnny Depp had people supporting him when Disney sacked him and he still didn't have his receipts public yet.

Some people seem not to understand that there is no way to stay neutral in this situation.
Either you believe Vic is innocent and subconsequently aknowledge that KV is a bunch of liars.
Or you consider that the defendants are honnest, and therefore that Vic is everything they said.
There is no neutral stance to take here.

Everyone "playing safe", you're not being smart, you're letting everyone else decide that you're on the other side.
As someone who think Vic has been deeply wronged, I'll consider all of the coward fence sitters as members of KV.
Your refusal to speak up for Vic is harmful to him, and people won't forget that you choose to let him suffer.

Turning a blind eye is picking a side, the wrong side, always.

i would add that "safe-neutral" is still "publicly appear to be on 'their' side, because they would kill my career"

it's almost safe to assume that everyone who is involved and doesn't actively kicks Vic might be playing it safe.

Exactly. She could've just ignored that one comment with zero likes. Instead, she uses it to point out that she's still friends with Monica. She also didn't have to promote Monica's role, but she chose to.

People claim that she's trying to appear neutral, but is she really? Neutral would mean treating both parties the same way. So, she stops mentioning Vic on social media, makes no positive comments about him being a good voice actor, won't even like any of his positive tweets and wouldn't even tag him in her comment about Free!, despite him voicing the main character. Meanwhile, she consistently likes and reblogs tweets by Monica and Jamie. She interacts with them. I think she liked at least one celebratory tweets about Vic losing the lawsuit back in September. She never takes the time to defend Vic from people in her comments (and these tweets more often than not have quite some interaction). And she promotes Monica's and Jamie's roles occasionally. Truth is, she is not neutral and she's not treating both parties the same way.

I'm not saying that Caitlin deserves a sped army to go after her, btw. I'm just frustrated that people can't see that she's not neutral.

And when it comes to her being afraid of losing her job/her position at Funimation? I don't believe it. She's a very well known voice actor and busy voice director at the company. There's no way people wouldn't start asking questions if she were to lose her job suddenly. I think she has at least some power in the company, so I don't buy it.

Eh, promoting other people really isnt that big of a deal. I do find it funny that she responded to the haters on this. We tend to ignore the small things but I think it is apparent Monica's image is in shambles which that ain't even close to what she deserves. Funny how quick someone is to respond to an absolute rando. We really are living rent free in these people's heads.

Anyway, I think we are jumping to conclusions about a den of rats. I'm willing to bet most of these people care more about the next job than keeping longtime friendships. It makes sense. Siding with Vic has absolutely not benefits other than labeling you a traitor. Not like Vic could get connections to other roles and many of his cons and places he visits aren't anime focused.

Y'all need to stop being autistic witch hunters. Try navigating this industry with Weebstein calling all the shots.

If things have gotten that boring around here, check out some of the other threads/forums.
As far as I'm aware no one on here has called for any action towards Caitlin Glass or any other spineless cowards. If you don't like the shit talking check out some other site.

And as evidenced from what happened to Vic it's pretty clear that taking down that bald faggot Christopher Robin would be as easy as airing a single grievance against him in public. The reason no one has done so is they have all been happy with their lots in life so far. They have been complicit in their shitty work environment for years.

She said Monica is my friend and has liked numerous KV tweets. Bitch betrayed him just like all the others. Sad because they were really close and used to do many Christian services at cons. Guess she's not much of a Christian, huh?

Fuck her.

Actually the more I think about it... Vic and Caitlin were VERY close, annoyingly so. Hanging out, hugging and even flirting in public. Always calling each other during panels. One panel which is on YouTube she calls Vic and asks would you date me and he says "oh, Caitlin...I've already told you if you ever get divorced I'll be sleeping outside your door."

To which she laughed and said "I'm telling Michele."

So why hasn't Caitlin made an accusation? That would be very damming wouldn't it? Yet she's never said anything against Vic. Just liking tweets and usually being very quiet.

Didn't Nick say the person feeding him information was a person that if Monica found out she'd break down and cry?

Who would that be? Not a male friend. I can't think of anyone Monica is that close to because Ron would lay an egg. It'd have to be a woman. Speaking as a woman, it hurts more to have your girlfriend betray you than a male friend.

So it'd have to be someone who's worked there for many years and is very close to Monica. Someone she'd never see coming.

What if Caitlin is the mole?

I think it's against our best interests to be speculating about who the insider feeding Nick info. If we're wrong we may have fucked some innocent person's career whereas if we're right we absolutely fucked their career and Nick loses a source.
